  1. And as we all know, Flip knows how to "Play The Right Way..." Congrats to him. Deserved a little more dough after last season, but payrolls are tight. He'll get a bunch more bench minutes than Denver could've offered, though. ~lw3
  2. Sounds like South Bend won't miss it at all. Hopefully we'll get some decent transportation there so Techwood/COP Drive doesn't turn into a week-long tailgate party. Now if we can just change the ending to "Rudy," I'll be pleased as punch. ~lw3
  3. Herschel, you're 47 for Gawdsakes. XLVII. You'd be past your prime for ballet, much less MMA! Evander's past-his-prime fighting at 47, but at least Real Deal's accustomed to about three decades of getting his head beat in without a helmet. No problem with training as a hobby at all. But you're at least a decade too late to be caught up in anybody's Octagon. Stick to celebrity boxing battles with guys like Peter Brady. Or at least other washed-up football players. What's the "He Hate Me" guy doing these days? Let's hope your debut with Strikeforce offers a little better fortune than HGH-loaded Johnnie Morton's 38-second K-1 washout against a stand-up comedian. I dunno, has Johnnie woken up yet? ~lw3
  4. I needed a reason to get the Mute button on my remote fixed... and BAM! ~lw3
  5. The S-Curl content in his bloodstream is WAY too high. ~lw3
  6. Hoping the docs can add some extra webbing. Better palming = fewer spectacular blown dunks? More likely, hope to see Teague's aggressiveness at the rim when it counts. Was it actually a dunk attempt or just a close jumper/lay-up? I couldn't tell from Sekou's posts. ~lw3
  7. Agreed with KrishATL. The standard "Clutch" logo (which I'd wish they'd replace with the "Swoop" logo altogether) may confuse a newbie into thinking the forum's not independent of The Hawks' site. The faded ball inside the clutched "Q" is a nice touch. ~lw3
  8. Shame they edited out the part where Kanye busted in, declaring Bill Russell the greatest NBA player of all time... Still holding out for someone to make a MJ/Peter Vecsey HOF-speech mix on YouTube. ~lw3
  9. Not really "active NBA" news, but an encouraging sign for retirees swindled by investment firms... Link (Chicago Tribune)
  10. Not quite as thrilling as Worst-to-First, but All-Time-Worst-to-Second isn't too shabby either. Congrats to the Dream! Their relative success apparently caught the playoff planners by surprise as well, as they'll have to play at Gwinnett Arena or somewhere for Round 1. Anybody know the days/times for Games 2 and 3 yet?
  11. So MoDiesel's our designated KobeStopper, eh? M'kay. He can foul 'em 5 pounds harder on their way past him to the hoop, I suppose... For all of Josh's SMH-provoking actions on-the-court, his off-court media comments are almost always a joy. Says all the good things season-ticket buyers want to hear from him. Could this be the season where the Smoove-talker's actions finally begin speaking louder than his words? ~lw3
  12. Sheeeeeeeeeed! Retire his number now! lol ~lw3
  13. What's that you say? You've been kidnapped, raped, and held captive for 18 years? Well, here's what you've missed in SoCal sports since back when you "left the yard!" Courtesy of OC Register columnist Mark Whicker Best irony is in the warnings for "Reader Comments": "3. People who harass others or joke about tragedies will be blocked." ~lw3

  15. After a full 7 months of head-scratching and "OK, what exactly are we doing now?" on offense, I'm sure. Folks on The Flats will not be surprised. Inevitable, sure, after the NFC champions' offensive coordinator took over the helm in KC. But 10 days before the season kicks off? ~lw3
  16. Shockley played like "#2" this summer, if you know what I mean, so might as well give JPW a shot unless somebody better gets waived off another team. ~lw3
  17. Counted about ten teams with backup squads (in their current configuration) I MIGHT rather have... and in some cases not because they're so much more talented but just deeper with the options they have. (no particular order) Wiz Celts Bulls Cavs Mavs Rox Hornets Spurs Blazers Jazz A refreshing change from past seasons, assuming Woody uses this to his advantage (and you know what happens when you "assume." ~lw3
  18. NO glue-making, at least for now, as this whacko was arrested early this morning. Zoning-reg grievances and related grandstanding always "bring out the best" in people, but I just found this dude's story to be over-the-top... News Link (Flier: "PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT: Public Execution of 24 Registered Horses to Protest Weld County Zoning Codes") http://www.kdvr.com/news/kdvr-horse-executions-082609,0,2156880.story http://www.thedenverchannel.com/news/20561214/detail.html ~lw3

  20. Well, Michael, you're "SuperSomething!", we can all agree on that! Was this pic taken during NBA Sophomore Camp? http://twitpic.com/eovo8 ~lw3
  21. If we were going in Ma$e's direction I'd rather toss some coins at Rodney "Dunkz Hawd" Carney and see if the Wolves bite. Or for a cheaper but better-shooting option, is Dalton's Own (Morris Almond) a lock with the Knicks? ~lw3
  22. Take one part Buddy Ryan and two parts Bill Romanowski and you get... Oakland Raiders head coach Tom Cable punched defensive assistant Randy Hanson in the jaw during an Aug. 5 altercation at the team's training camp headquarters at the Napa Valley Marriott... Two NFL sources have confirmed to FanHouse that the assailant was Cable and "that Hanson never saw it coming..." Cable’s punch sent Hanson to the hospital for X-rays. Silver 'n Black... 'n Blue? ~lw3
