  1. He's rich, famous, millions of fans, and all the women back stage he could ever handle. The point is, he isn't angry anymore so he's not the same guy. Same path Snoop went down when he finally got his. Reality TV???? Come on Snoop. . .
  2. He was a horrible quitarist, but not a horrible musician. He wrote extremely simple songs that were not difficult to play, but had great lyrics that snagged the attention of a changing generation just like Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash or Elvis. Now I am not saying Cobain was even in the same ballpark as Dylan/Cash/Elvis (not even close to the same league), but you can't hate him for writing simple guitar songs that people loved. Tugging on the heart strings or angered minds of people is how artists are remembered by entire generations, good guitarist or not.
  3. I agree with waiting till after the draft to see what's available at that time. That money would be nice to help throw at a big for sure
  4. Glad to hear things like this because it sucks getting the games on ESPN Gamecast. Glad to hear he's slowing down a bit and that it's paying dividends already.
  5. Anything to get the city hyped about our potentially great basketball team. . . .Atlanta (population) needs to wake up and show some love whether it's playoffs or not! When the players get hyped, it wakes up the crowd and gets the whole arena live.
  6. Really think he'll rotate to SF next year? I don't think he'll progress the shot that quick. . .
  7. Probably won't happen. . . . right? Shouldn't . . . . no way in . . . . .ok yeah, it's scary to even think of. ChampionshipS for Cleveland.

    Props to Mo

Priceless when you can call a guy into the game and get that intensity. It keeps the effort up and makes the team produce more. Great players
  9. Mookie. . . . ahhhhh. . . good times.
  10. I agree Nine, but if a player is hot then you can throw out the numbers. I say let him go again tonight and we can see if he can even qualify as "hot". Bottom line though, when our opponent has a big we will NEED him to rebound.
  11. Only because we scored 118 though. You think giving up 100+ will work in the playoffs?
  12. I hope we play all out against the Heat in the regular season. If we do end up playing those guys, I want to break their spirits before playoffs even starts. That should give us momentum. . .
  13. Let him and Bibby both go and look at the money. . . we could get a great G if we can just find the right fit. Yes, Bibby looked great last night. But the Hawks nation was blasting him a week ago for no defense (and rightly so). And as for Speedy,. . . . you read the Twit. This is the kind of retooling we need to do, not the "start from scratch" approach I saw the other day.
  14. 1) If a three pointer is made, it's made. And guess what? It counts for three points on the scoreboard. 2) Horrid offensive philosophy to leave your PF outside and ask a PF playing C to out rebound multiple NBA bigs. 3) If a player's hot, you can afford to ride it until the fire cools. My point is that you can leave Josh out there and let him rain threes while he's hitting them consistently. However, that shouldn't be an every play affair because he should be crashing the boards. Maybe we'll figure out the best way to run this team when we get a coach that can wrap his mind around the word "offense". I believe in the addage that "defense wins championships", but when you don't look that hot on D you better have some semblance of an offensive plan.
  15. Sounds like we all agree that the Hawks need a big that can contribute early on, but it seems like most of you think we have to get him with the first overall pick. Anyone see potential in a center that may be there for round 2 or the lotto?? I know many C's come out to play and absolutely bust, but I think there's one or two tops that will perform big out of this draft that will fall that low.
  16. I was watching the Miami game with my friend (big Miami fan, ATL not televised here). The game forced to overtime by an improbable (and absolutely gorgeous) deep three, Miami looked shook in the OT period, and D-Wade was doing a lot of complaining to the referees for most of the game. Of course D-Wade is D-Wade, but I'm hoping these are signs of stepping out of the mental zone before playoffs. That would be awesome.
  17. Excellent game. . . .did he play any defense though? Game wasn't televised down here. . .
  18. Building a dynasty around LBJ? It's already begun. Remember when he was drafted and shortly after was complaining that he was put on the "worst team in the league"? Now there are two all-stars and a strong cast of supporters on that team. They're handling their business up there in Cleveland. The only thing we can do is handle our business down here . . .aka - keep our good talent and add the missing pieces (coach, C, PG). Think our front office can do that?
  19. I thought long and hard about the most important element the Hawks need to advance past the first round and here's what I came up with: Wins :laughing5: Seriously, intensity. Defense is key. . . so is FT percentage. . . . so is hitting the jumper. . . . I hear about our "5 minute lulls" or "complaining to the refs". Those are signs of the lacksidasical effort we've put forth down the stretch. If we don't bring intensity, we'll be the only team in the playoffs that doesn't and that is just unacceptable.
  20. I think it is. Even if we held the fourth seed and lost this game, it would be such a blow before playoffs. I think unless we finish strong, we will be dominated in the first round despite what seed we ended up with.
  21. Woody's not as much of a weak link as he is the anchor at the end dragging the ship down. JJ's not going to be at a peak unless we quit demanding so much from him.
  22. Oops . . . MSU only got beat by 17. I knew I spoke too soon. . . .
  23. Couldn't agree more. There's no substance to it.
  24. Good point about being in the same spot we were then, but I think it might be ok that we waited. We've got talent now and are just a PG and C away from being an elite team, not in 2007 where we would have picked them up to just be a playoff contender. Just my opinion. . .
  25. So if JJ is guarded by the 2 and rolls over to the 3 divided by 1 . . . .carry the 7. . . . then something about "Flip"ping the whole fraction when it's done. . . . . I hate math.
