  1. Either way, it's never an easy road to a championship. Yes, I said road to a championship. . . .first round's first, but the competition only gets tougher later in the playoffs so it really doesn't matter who we play first round. Our regular season record keeps improving, so shouldn't our playoff performances? Last year we lost in 7 in the first round. . . . this year?? I've got high hopes regardless of our opponents.
  2. HamHawk

    Blasphemy!

5's got it right, sad to say. The important thing is the future we can see with Al on the roster. I'm excited about that and don't care who won an award a year ago. Though it should have been a toss up. =D
  3. I thought that too for a bit. I even posted a pitch about that. Now I think differently. This is a critical off season for our Hawks, to find out if we can make that next step to joining the records of the East's big 3. I'm thinking that there are other options instead of trading Smoove. . . like a smart draft (with a little luck) and working in other player's contracts. PG money, etc. . .
  4. Where can I find information on telling the difference between a player actually being injured and just being listed as injured? I have no clue where to find that info. . . .
  5. Josh is such an amazing athlete and so explosive of a player, but I love Horf. He is destined for greatness.
  6. I like you dizzy, you're funny. I want the Hawks to replace Bibbs and Clax next season because I think it will better the team. . . .the team I'm backing up. Those are the comments I've made. From now until the championship game, I will scream my head off for anyone in a Hawks jersey. . . because I back them up. I apologize that my strong statements in this topic's first reply. I don't think it was read with the inflection intended. Didn't mean to made you cry over other issues I wasn't aware of. hahaha I'm just saying I hope the Hawks nation goes wild for the remainder of the season, regardless if the fan is fair weather, judgmental, fanatic, pompous, or just plain new to the program. As far as my future comments about anything other than player transactions and game posts. . . . well, I hate the verbal diarrhea it brings out of people. I'll leave that to the guys that "understand the dynamics" of the message board. LOL (yeah, P-bird's funny too) Thanks for the laughs guys!
  7. I knew we'd make playoffs because the East is so shallow. We weren't near the top three and I would have guessed that. I wouldn't have guessed that we would be the "best of the rest" in the East. All I know is that regular season doesn't matter. If we out performed what the experts said we would last year with a horrid regular season. . . .what can we do this year with a little more confidence??
  8. Yes, I've only been here a few weeks and I only have enough time to keep up with the threads that have been posted since my joining. I don't recall ever saying in the past few weeks that I knew the whole place inside out though. Who's being presumptuous? I saw an objective Hawks post saying "go Hawks" while remaining steadfast being a "no-Joe" fan. The first reply said nothing about "go Hawks", "go Joe", or anything else positive about our boys. It was just hating on fair weather fandom. I am new and don't know the history of this site's posts, I don't know if you and Ben have beef, and I don't know how die-hard of a Hawks fan you are. I just say that our Hawks wrapping up a home series trumps any of that junk so why hate on it? To be honest, I'm too preoccupied with backing our playoff bound Hawks to deal with ridiculous blog bicker anyway. GO HAWKS!! (oh, and I'll call you whatever is listed on your posts, doesn't matter)
  9. I thought we'd have a better year than last year based on sheer momentum from taking Boston to 7. I say that because I thought that would get ATLiens excited about their Hawks, they'd go to the games, the players would see this and get hyped at home. Things are nice in Phillips now, but I never saw a 4 seed. Then again, who did??
  10. He will follow that act by turning water to wine and walking on water. LOL Seriously though, if he can keep whatever rhythm he has in short stretches for a longer duration then he'll be a help. I think he's great because he gives intensity off the bench. Offensive liability? Yes. But if he can keep his composure for longer periods, he'll be o.k.
  11. If this is sarcasm, it's freaking hilarious! atta boy hillz. I'm just glad the games don't count. He needs to leave with Bibby. Oh yeah, and Twitter sucks.
  12. So a Hawks fan decides to beat his chest that we have a winning team that will host a playoff series and the first thing drizzy wants to do is call him fair weather? Even when he admits to not being the biggest JJ fan? Come on driz. . . . it seems to me that all the real Hawks fans are happy right now and deserve to be proud of their team. You know how you spot real Hawks fans that have the Hawks' spirit?? They are in great moods talking trash about other teams. . . They don't get on Hawks fans websites, find a Hawks fan who is in a good mood because we have a winning season, and start to hate. You need to get your mind right driz. . .support your Hawks nation.
  13. I like the Hinrich for Claxton/Law scenario too. I think you spend the MLE on Flip and research extensively another big man for draft/lotto. I know that's a risky business, but there are 5s with bigger upside than Solo out there this year. I can just feel it! lol
  14. The players need rest. JJ has has said that these come from behind wins takes so much energy to pull off. Since we've run into a few of those lately, I'd say to keep the starters on limited display. I do think, however, that we should beat Miami in the regular season whatever it takes. They've been on a little skid and if that lasts until playofffs, they'll come out weak. D-Wade will always be D-Wade, but if we can shake his supporting cast then we'll be in good shape.
  15. Draftexpress is awesome
  16. Sounds good for shooting. I don't like this quote though: "By no means is he going to be a stopper at the pro level, but he certainly has the ability to be adequate in the time he is on the floor". I'd like our next guard to be a good defender. We have offensive firepower already, just not a coach that knows how to get the best out of it. . .
  17. Sounds promising. . . . for a young undeveloped kid. I still don't like the idea of keeping Al at the 5 though. It could work nice, but we'd need a coach that would plan for a game with offensive sets to make it successful.
  18. Not the quote of the day, but the obvious statement in this post. 1.3 attempts, whether heavily guarded or not, at the end of 24 or not, isn't an issue so you can't compare stats here. The stats don't amount to anything. The better discussion would be how he would perform given a real offensive scheme. . ..
  19. Let's just hope it remains that way through playoffs. =D
  20. All of these possible roll players and no listings from the Euroleagues. Roll players are all over this draft, but we're looking for key position players to fill holes. It's weak in the fact that big immediate roll players aren't there. Come on, this last year's draft was insane. . . . we won't have another one like that in ages, especially this year.
  21. Has anyone gotten any use of this Twitter thing? I mean information or viewpoints you can't already find posted in substantial articles or blogs on the web??
  22. Great points and thanks for the breakdown. The only thing is that Joe has shot five times more threes than Josh. That means a few hot games have put Josh in this position, where if they were cold games you would see a huge difference in this statistic. They were not cold games and I take nothing away from a player wanting to extend his range. I just can't trust these statistics until Josh puts a few more up there (after offseason work) For the playoffs, I say if he's hitting then let him shoot. He just has to know when to call it good or call it quits.
  23. I agree. We will end up playing Miami and D-Wade's playoff ownage had better be kept in check while we're on the road. . . .
  24. yet another reason why TV outside the south just sucks. . .
