    Hawks Jerseys

what size and how much do you want for them?
  2. I don't really think he is a looser for saying that, i actually admire how realistic he is. He is totally right on what he said about cleveland, orlando, and boston. They made some big moves this offseason and the hawks didn't. it would be a miracle if the hawks move up to the third, or second spot... that's just a fact.
  3. Another old fart playing in Boston... NICE!
  4. If the Hawks don't give it to him, you better believe another team will. We need a guard of his caliber here in Atl. (an all-star that draws the double team night after night) and they are not easy to come by. Realistically who could we get in here to replace Joe at his current salary if another team gives him the 80 - 90 mil that will put up the same numbers as Joe or better? Or if you want to spend that kind of money on an all-star other than Joe, what other big name do you think we can get to come to Atlanta? Not many i would say.
  5. Right on man... I'm glad to hear your not about to kill yourself or anything. After reading your post and noticing your Avatar picture i thought you were in trouble, lol. I love how the picture fits your pessimistic personality. lol
  6. I keep reading about Bibby yelling, cursing, and doing everything to Woody shy of fornicating with his wife. I've never seen any of this. I'm wondering where folks are getting this from. Besides, if it were true, i would think Woodson would've let him go and picked up another PG instead of talking him up all this time and allowing Sund to give him a three year deal. I do agree with your comment about how elite coaching makes little difference at this level of basketball. i think at this point the main job of a coach is to keep the team together and to motivate the hell out of these rich, spoiled, and pretentious bastards (not all of them but most.)
  7. I've been anxious about it myself, but after Sund singed Bibby and then Zaza I'm more at ease.... It seems he's got a handle on things and will do what's right. I think it'll just be a matter of time until we get the news that he will continue to be a hawk.
  8. In a game like basketball having larger hands does have advantages. But in the big scheme of things, when you have the talent that Josh has, it does not make that much of a difference at all. Besides, You would have to have real tiny hands for the handling of the ball to really be effected, and his 6'9" how small can his hands really be? I guarantee you if you start a thread titled "Do you think Josh Smiths small hands will keep him from improving his game?" you'll get laughed at. :lol6: As far as that between the legs dunk, he should not have been doing that in the first place... when is being able to make a between the legs dunk critical in a game anyways? BTW, Josh has made that dunk countless of times. Hell, i believe that was one of his dunks in the 2005 slam dunk contest and he was a rookie straight out of high school. That was just a freakish mistake. :beat:
  9. If the organization has the ability to sign him, sign him now!!! I tell you right now every team in the league will be after Joe next summer!!! Why? because out of the shooting guards, he is in the top three that will be available. Wade and Ray Allen are the other two and they are not going anywhere.
  10. Nothing good!!! I would say the only one that might fit is Jermaine O'neal. Even then i would like to wait for next summer when the real talent will be available... Yao Ming, Memo Okur, Marcus Camby, Shaq, ilgauskas... what?!
  11. you should be able to answer your own question... you put together a 4+ minute highlight of what the man did for the Hawks this past season :slap1: . We would have never gotten as far as we did with out him. The man is worth the 6 mil and more. Mike Woodson says himself Bibby is the best thing that has happened to him as a coach. Bibby is a veteran point guard who leads the offense, and beside Kidd, i can't think of a better player to take Teague under his wings to show him the ins and outs of the league. We got a bargain keeping him at 6 mil. We should be thankful he stayed for that much as i'm sure he could have gotten more elsewhere. So thumbs up for Bibby for believing in the Hawks!!!
  12. WTF? are you for real? are you saying Josh's small hands will keep him from improving? The only physical attribute that would slow down a player with as much athleticism as Josh would be stature. But the guy is 6' 9" so i'm sure he's going to be just fine!!! small hands?!
  13. Well, considering he is one of the most athletic players in the NBA, i would say the possibilities are endless!!! If he matures and improves his jump shot, then he will definitely put up 25+ point per game, he will become an all-star for sure as well as the face of the franchise who will sell many jersey, and bobbleheads, and will make the organization a lot of money . If he matures and doesn't improve his jump shot, then he'll continue to be a very solid player who puts on a show with his athleticism, and contributes on both sides of the court. So to answer your question, HE'LL BE A SOLID PLAYER YOU'LL WANT ON YOUR TEAM!!!
  14. I'll tell you what hasn't sucked this decade... MY F***ING WIFE!!!... But seriously man you should see someone about your pessimism. That terrible things have happened this decade? yes no doubt, but bad things have always happened and will continue to happen. I'm sure if you look at the big picture you'll see things are not as crappy as they seem!!!
  15. Good post man!!! by the time i was done reading it my heart was beating fast i was so excited, lol. At a minimum i hope we keep Childress. Thats one player who hustles and man would he add depth to the bench. As far as the Hawks becoming a championship contender with that team, i don't know. I really don't know Woody would know what to do with so many players to play. Also, the top 3 teams in the east have made some big moves this summer... But we'll see
  16. Why can we just keep Childress? is it a money issue? Man would he give our bench some depth if he came back?!
  17. I was a Lebron fan for a while. But I swear is crap like this and him not shaking hands at the end of the Orlando's game makes me think his letting all this fame get to his head.
  18. Normally i would not see this as a good move. I've never thought Zaza brought much to the team. But since it looks like there are no good big man willing to come here for this upcoming season, this looks like a good move after all. I really don't think Zaza will stay with the Hawks for 4 years. As a matter of fact, mark my words, "Zaza will not stay for the Hawks for the next 4 years." At least not if the Hawks as an organization have winning a championship as one of their short term goals. I think he will most likely be used in a package deal to get a dominant big man in the near future.
  19. Dude, what are you talking about? it has nothing to with people overreacting. It's just people doing on this site what this site is meant for... sharing personal opinions with others to open discussions. I think your the one looking like chicken little for taking things you read on this site so personal!
  20. Very reasonable contract is an understatement. Bibby could have gotten more than that elsewhere. I think we should give credit where credit is due... Bibby is the man for choosing to stay here in the ATL!!!
  21. As of right now I would say it's really hard to say how much playing time JT will get next season. We all know how Woodson feels about playing rookies, and now that is sure Bibby will be back and Crawford playing the 6th man things are not looking well for the young rookie. However, ultimately it's going to be up to JT and his abilities to determine how much play time he will get.... Playing under Woodson, he better come out swinging
  22. I hope you're right. I'm certainly looking forward to watching this kid play. However, I think the whole thing about Woodson being under a mandate to play JT is far from the truth. I heard Sund on an interview where they asked him a question regarding JT's playing time for next season, and he made it clear that his playtime is going to depend on JT and Mike Woodson. Sund also made it a point to say that it is not his job to run the team which is why he has Mike Woodson as head coach.
