Its seems strange that we thought we had a lot of cap space, but really don't - maybe not enough to get both Paul and DMC back. But consider this - a lot of teams might be in the same boat - or worse. What matters is what teams are there that need a DMC who also have a lot of cap space, and also think he's what they want? And a place where he would want to go? I don't have time or interest to look at 30 teams, but there may not be all that many teams out there that are the ideal landing spots. There was some rumor that he wants to go to NY. Maybe so, but do the Knicks have any cap space? (I don't know, but thought they were maxed out.) So things may not be as bad as they seem. (Or not - I guess we will find out in next few months.)

I think Josh stays in Houston. I would have been interested in seeing what Coach Bud could have done with Josh had he got Josh as a rookie. Its too late now.

Atlanta is the ultimate "What have you done for me lately city." COY one day, get your car booted the next.

As an aside, the Sun now have 3 former Dream guards - Bentley, Thomas and Inga Orechova, with Alex and Jasmine starting the pre-season. Inga was the draft pick that was part of the Bentley deal, so a bit of irony there. Also, Hyrnko is now on San Antonio and played in a game yesterday. Sunday the Dream face the Chinese National team at North HS. Suppose their team color is red? I wonder what their official team name is "The People Liberation Women's Basketball Team?" Anyway, autograph session with both teams after the game.

The offseason...how do you see/want things going down?

We will have a new ownership group pretty soon. I would think they will want to do something pretty quick to let people know they are serious of this team, so maybe a big splash in the FA market will happen. Hopefully the Cleveland series will not undo all the good done by the rest of the season and Atlanta will be seen as a good destination now, esp. since we have new owners. -
I guess the good news is we won't have to choose between watching the Hawks or the Dream play on a given night in June. Would have rather we did have to make the choice though.

CNBC premiers a new series tonight about lies and dishonesty. One of the segments in the series (not sure it its tonight but it might be) goes into the Donniehy scandal and his betting on games. Here's a youtube video showing him talking about betting on games. He mentions that certain referees would be calling games to favor certain owners and players. Might be worth watching, or at least hitting the DVR and picking out that segment when it airs.

Looks like Erica (with a c, not a k) is the wheel deal. Led the Dream to victory over the evil Liberty at NY's pres-season "Kids day" today. Angel has an ankle sprain but based on her tweet doesn't seem too serious.

I'd rather have an NBA sanctioned leg breaker.

I have a much simpler idea. We just need to do something like college teams do, such as pay players too much, tamper with another teams players, or whatever so we can get banned from post season play. When you are Atlanta all playoff stories have an unhappy ending. Its what you do..... But if that doesn't work, you've got some good ideas there.

Shooters? Scorers? Rebounders? I'd rather have some officials. -

I want Paul and DMC back. Then bring in Al Jefferson and Wesley Mathews and we can put the Jazz back together. Let's show Salt Lake City would could have been. -
Chucky is not coming to the rescue lw3 - she got waived. Unless Brazilican Erica Wheeler (signed today) can do the job, no one is coming to the rescue.

Kind of hard to get enthused about next season at this point in time.

Everyone knows you can't call a foul on LeBron because he has his own flavor of Sprite now. Would be bad for business....

I'm afraid it might be an MCL because it looked like sideways pressure on the outside of the knee. Hyperextension wou;d be better.

Wow lw3 - great analysis and I love your sly humor. Predictions are so tough in the WNBA. The Mercury, for example, reigning champs could be with a little bad luck, a lottery team this year. Or they could be tough as nails. The whole Eurobasket, star sitting out, Griner/Johnson suspension and Fowles dramas have yet to play out or be resolved so this season is almost a pure wildcard. The one team that has most everything intact is the Lynx, but if they don't get Fowles, they will probably miss McCarville. Brunson is not getting any younger, and Jones is a wildcard. An injury to one of their big 3 and they are no longer a clear cut favorite. Injuries are so key and we obviously can't predict which ones happen once the season starts. Angel's strife in Turkey is sad, but it will be nice to see her get a chance to play for the Dream after having had a break to rest before the season starts and be available for the entire training camp. A lot depends on whether Shoni can step it up, or, goes into the dreaded sophemore slump. Logic seems like a very good pg candidate, but are Angel, Erika, Sancho and Tip going to listen to a rookie in the huddle? Lots of questions this year and the answers will only come on the court. I really don't like the Dream schedule. They frontload the home games, which builds momentum, but then hit the road for long stretches and, at best, just lose the momentum, while at worst they go into a tail spin. If they don't get off to a really hot start, this could be a very long season.

I was so ticked off then Pierce hit that shot that I turned the TV off. I heard my daughter still screaming at the TV in another room, before I realized what happened. That series was really about as close as it could have been. GO HAWKS. BEAT THE CAVS!!!!

Yeah lw3 lets get a d-league team. How about the Gwinnett Traffic Jam. (Try driving up I-85 some weeknight to get to Gwinnett Arena.)

Gearon has become something like an incurable disease. They did a brain transplant on the patient, but they implanted the tumor from the old brain as well.
-
But, just like Dracula never quite , Gearon is still a minority % owner. No telling what trouble he can still cause.
-
That's really great - by far the most deserving coach. He really has done a great job of making the team better and making all of the players better as well.
