Another disappointing loss. Hopefully Wheeler is ok. She may be our best pg. NIce crowd though. Where were all these people when the team was winning? I guess Hayes left her 3 point shot over in Azerbaijan.

Maybe the Nets spending spree of a few years ago will presage what happens with the Cavs. Never did the Nets much good, and at some point you just have too many player$ and not enough basketballs.

Can anyone explain to me why Splitter would just waive his trade kicker (or cut it down to $300k)? I mean - I'm not giving up $1 million.

Gee - come to think of it - could this be part of the Splitter deal? Any win is a good one, but this one was not impressive. Seattle is pretty bad team and we really struggled to put them away. Nearly didn't as the Storm hit some big shots in the last few minutes to close the gap. Once again, Angel bailed the Dream out. Wheeler had a good game. Not encouraging to struggle against one of the WNBA's weakest teams on your home court.

Looks like Colhado is out - she's no longer on the roster. Still have 13 for todays matchup between the last place team in the East and the 4th place team in the West. This is kind of a must win - Seattle has been pretty hapless beating only the weaker half of the LA team and a depleted Tulsa team (I think). So - we have to win, or its not looking good for us. (Guess we will just have to see who is on the floor today to find out who got cut.)

Summer league takes on a whole new significance.....

Well, we now have a chance to repeat last season's success, with a little luck and some shrewd moves. I think the Joe Johnson deal proved also contracts can be moved in the event you don't need them anymore. Another point - Milsap+Splitter would be an acceptable 4 and 5 starting lineup to protect against Horford leaving someday. Now we just need to figure our how to use 1 center and 2 pfs. Start Horford and Milsap, then rotate Splitter in to go with a 3 man rotation? Enough minutes to go around. $20 M is a lot but its not my money. Spend away on my entertainment Ressler and company. The new Atlanta Spending Group.......

He was good at breaking stuff when he was Gearon's mouthpiece trying to smear people. Not so much now.......

I'm happy with that part of the way the day is going.

No matter what - don't overpay. Took us 2 seasons to build this team. Took 3 seasons if you count the year it took to recover from salary cap hell as well as all the seasons that we were in it, and couldn't get out.

So - it looks like a.) We really didn't have all that much cap space. b.) Other teams must have a ton of it. c.) All those wins didn't seem to make us a more attractive FA market. d.) If Sap goes to Orlando this is going to go down as Black Wednesday.......

I think it was a synergy. Ferry got the right mix, given the cap space and other constraints, Bud moved them up to their best potential or gave them the chance. Bud got rid of the ones that didn't get where they needed to be. Interesting though that the biggest problem we may have now is that unlike when Ferry came to town, we don't have a single bad contract to dump for cap space or whatever. Ferry did have a lot more room to work with.

I don't think I was that thrilled with the Thabo and Bazemore signings (and there were even a fair amount of grumbles when Milsap and DMC were signed) so let's give him a chance. Last thing we needed was another No. 1 draft pick sitting at the end of the bench, or getting a lot of frequent flyer miles between Atlanta and Ft. Wayne.

What the heck is wrong with this Gasol guy - loyal to his team? He's supposed to try to cash in......

Agreed - what good are our new billionaire owners if they don't start spending some money. I mean really, what have they done for us in the past few hours? How about the Gwinnett Baby Hawks....I need a cheaper alternative the Hawks now that they are big winners.
