  1. :thumbsupsmileyanim: Am I only guy old enough to remember "Bad News" Marvin Barnes? Great player, but earned his nickname, for sure.
  2. Interesting - he wasn't even drafted. Looks like a pretty solid backup player to me. Was he injured a lot - played less than 70 games in the last two seasons?
  3. My thought - maybe the "Dream team" in MIA will be like the one that lost the Gold Medel. If my memory, Lebron was on that team as well.
  4. I think this super team will only be super if everything goes its way. Soon as some losses pile up, finger pointing starts, guys start going ISO, and pretty soon it discombobulates. Plus, they need 11 players, and at least 7-8 regulars to make a team, not just 3.
  5. So if this guy is so bad, why did he do so well against the Hawks? Maybe he just gets up for the Hawks. (Or maybe I just remember those games). He gets his head on straight, and Minnesota could have made a great deal.
  6. Salim was my favorite when he was on the team. He was the only guy not afraid to shoot the ball. Guess that didn't help him, but in those days the Hawks were so bad, it didn't really matter much. I always hoped he would make it in the NBA.
  7. I think it all depends on whether he actually tries to get into better shape. He's old, but lots of centers have played for a long time. If he didn't do it in Cleveland, then he probably won't do it here. Still he might figure this is getting close to his last chance. As for Bradley, his job is to stir up watercooler talk, not to be right. Anyway, I think it shows the money is no object for ASG. Good for them for trying.
  8. Now 13-4! We went to the Sparks game - very exciting but never rackng. Finally, a blow out win against Minn. Armintie Price never stops hustling. Kelly Miller is another pressure d player. This team is playing great. Amazing that the second unit is winning games for them. :thumbsupsmileyanim:
  9. Let's see: JJ 120 m, Bibby, ZaZa, Marvin all with contracts that are too big to be traded. No cap space. I think the problem is not that they are cheap, but that they spend too much..... However, I do admit I thought they were cheap when the sold the draft pick. Somewhere I heard it was for 500k. Then I read it was for 3m. So I changed my mind on that. Anyway, the do deserve credit for not being cheap....
  10. Depends on how poor he is. But, I'm glad they got him. Looks like he may be fun to watch.

    NBA Divas

Good question. I think the news media is also looking for something to keep fans interest up. Its a slow time of year otherwise.
  12. I'm hoping for S&T. Six years of max salary is a handcuff we will never escape from. I don't blame Joe for taking the $. Many, if not most, people would quit their jobs for a better paying one.
  13. What I don't get is why they pick a guy who is only playing something like 14 minutes a game on the oveseas team. If he's that good, wouldn't the French be playing him? Come to think of it, why not draft the best player on the French team? Or if he's gone, at least a starter?
  14. Did they really get $3m? If so, I don't blame them for being cheap in this case.
  15. But if they sign all 3 do they have any money left for anyone other than a league minimum. Also - why does everyone trash Beasley - he seems like he always played well against us. (I know about his rehab, but still..)
