  1. It is a dirty rumor anyway, nobody in the organization is that crazy to do that.Oh well, I am not going to be looking at the draft since its going to be very boring (and I got college class too). Have fun
  2. But at the end, it is up to Smooth if he wants that contract that he always wants or not. But I got a feeling atleast Hawks would make a another move.
  3. then that the biggest problem what if during the Feb deadline and we are fighting for HCA, would be gamble to keep him even know that he is going to leave and we wont get nothing for him. That is the biggest concerns. But then again, we got a real GM now, so lets see how he plays this.
  4. Well, I know that was going to happen but in this situations, never say never.
  5. But at the same time, one have to get worked up, we have a new boss at the helm that is willing to put the Hawks as a elite teams in the league and the ownership is finally step back and let him do his thing. Even if its empty claims, this is the first time we can be happy about the future around here.Or, you like doom and gloom
  6. I keep wondering why do people want to make stupid idea about this. Pau cost about 20 mil, and we got another 20 mil coming up with Joe. Sure Gasol and Horford is a good front court but I dont see us doing this trade, Danny Ferry would want more to take that contract. Hawks pass
  7. Nine,Nope, he is calling as he see it, like all of us seen. This organization was lacking in many things and disresect by rest of the league, Most of people that I talk to from Cleveland when he was GM, that he is a true teller and told it how its. One of the reasoning why he left Cavs.Like I was saying plenty of times, that this team and organization needed a outside view of everything. Like the article say, Darry Ferry talk to Levenson about every single thing that happen to team from lawsuits to failed sale even hit on the Thrashers (alittle bit, no much. basketball context). At the end, they realize they made alot of mistakes and because of that, they lose respect from league, and etc, etc. To me its like confessional of their wrongs. I
  8. NOTR, Nice try but that boat sail along time ago and if we did try to keep him that means we have to give up Zaza, Teague, and might have to try to trade Al. Right now, I think Josh needs a change, to a team and a coach that is going to be on him like Woody, that is going to bench him when he wants to think he is Mark Price. I dont think that Drew is doing that, because he is fighting for his job too.
  9. @Dolfan, they will be preparaed now for it but its better to do it right now then waiting and dealing with the same mess as Orlando went through last year (if it was me, Dwight would be playing with Cats).Joker,I dont think a team in their right mind is going to give 3 picks and one player for Josh. You must be trippin' or something like that. I say 1 or 2 picks/player
  10. But Trade Deadline deals is worst in my opinion because you dont know the value of the next draft class and the team isnt going to give u a decent deal for him. Better do it before the draft not during the season.
  11. I think its going to be this draft because if we are in the playoff during next season, giving away Josh is going to hurt this team more because he would have been with the Hawks for half of season and we are going to be in the playoff hurt then people will be start second-guessing to see if they want to Josh to go all the way. plus the value will be even worst at trade deadline time. That is too dangerous. Trade him now or lose him for nothing.Actually I found this quote by Hawk Str8Talk on Peachtree hoops, and I am think that is how we are feeling that right now, change is almost here, we just got to accept and move on.
  12. and how is the Hawks is like Bucks, I will like to know? Because I dont think many other team is going to do a trade like that, and we can get Marvin contract outta here if we lucky ofcourse.
  13. Okay Joker,I think you are missing the point by a mile, right now we dont have any power any talks with Josh Smith trade rights because HE IS A EXPIRED CONTRACT, no team in the their right mind would give you a decent package because Josh can a Danny Manning and leave after the season and leading that team with cap space and thats it.Right now, any deal that involved a mid 1st/expired/filier is much better than getting nothing for him. Martin is a good player and you can put Joe as a perm 3 if need to. This is Point of No Return for this.
  14. In other words, next season, everybody from coaching staff to players is on high notice. So they know that they are playing or coaching for their jobs.
  15. I thnk most of us want this in a degree, so this tells me two things.1) ASG DID give Ferry the keys and willing to stand back and let him do his work2) That nobody is going to be safe, Nobody except a few.
  16. NJ,Hate bursting your bubble but you know that if we did resign Smooth, that means we will have no other money to spend on anybody and with that LT Penaty coming next year, Someone isnt going to get resign and we be getting Vetmin for a very long time.
  17. You know I think some of us is half glass empty guysFirst of all, every GM in all sports has questionable decisions, heck even R.C. Burford has his moments and plus Danny Ferry was trying to put pieces around Lebron so they can win the Championship and they almost did, by the way. Its hard trying to please not only superstar player but his owner as well (Dan Gilbert) Heck if you want to look at draft history and FA signings, you can see some crazy stuff but that is trail and error. If this signing comes to pass (with 76ers pulling out), this does two things for us, one, it will bring a outside view to this team, someone that is brand new and bring his own spin of things (if he has full control) and two, it can bring back a spark to this team, that actually need it. Even know that they were blowout and under-achieve in playoffs, Thomas Dimioff(sp?) did that for the Falcons when they selected him as their GM and hopefully he can do the same as well.
  18. Its looks like the Hawks was offering 6 year contact to Ferry for becoming GM. But that is a good start but i like to see what he can do and if he is going to have full control?
  19. But at the same time, do you think that Josh is going to resign with the Hawks after next season? They need to get something for him while his value is at his highest or we will get nothing in return.
  20. But the question is would the Hawks pull it off or just stay pat. My guess is staying pat but I would love for the Hawks to make a deal or two.
  21. I know that most of the people that i chat to, is saying the same thing about ASG, sure we are not the Clippers but its getting close. I think they are close to Rankin Smith era for the Falcons close. Most excs and agents is seeing this and they are telling their clients to be very careful with dealing with us. I hope that the Hawks can be sold this summer but I think its going to be very hard to find a good buyer.
  22. But Stan Kasten is with Dodgers ownership (he and Magic Johnson brought the Dodgers for 2B), so he isnt going to be in any other ownership. But I think her, Cox Family, or anybody that doesnt want to move the Hawks is good for the team.
  23. Christian Laettner?!? that is the first time I heard about this. i am trying to remember when the Trashers was still in town and they were about to get sold to TNSE, i think it was a former black hockey player want to buy the Trashers, Hawks and Phillips for 500 mil but it was turned down.Cox family could be good owners (they are local as well) and for Blakely, I dont think that they have any females owners in NBA but it will be eye-opener for real, plus she can work together with Dream Ownership as well.
  24. capstone21,i can totally understand you and believe me I got some feeling like that from time to time but let me tell you thisSure you can blame the fans and city but you can blame the ownership more. Did the ownership did everything in their power to bring fans to Phillps every night? NODid the ownership make the right decisions (i.e. marketing, FA, draft) to make this team marketable? Heck NoThink about this cap, the Atlanta Falcons been in the playoff 2 of the last 3 years, getting beat by teams that actually win the Super Bowl and they are now in talks in bring a new stadium that is going to eclipse Phillps, Georgia Dome, and Turner field combined. How that? I let you thik about thatAlso, you have to remember that between 2008 to now, the team stay the same, mininal changes, bad decision, and etc etc etc. Leading into 1st and 2nd defeats. People like changes and upgrades and working hard to get to their goal of a championship, not filling up the pockets with money from us the fans. Plus you got the economy to deal with well. All in all, if the ownership became serious and wants to get ECF and Finals and that label off of them they would had made a effort but do you see it? Hawks is much better off in Atlanta then any where else.If the ownership pulls their head out of their butts
