  1. I think we should sign Korver to MLE. He can start at small forward. I am a Zaza fan but we can find a backup center for vet minimum.
  2. Hate is a strong word but I always root against him and the Lakers no matter who the opponent is. Nevertheless, I felt bad for the guy, I hope he recovers well. Torn Achilles is a very significant injury especially for a 35 year old guy. I also wonder how this affects Howard's decision.
  3. Bynum has degenerative arthritic knees. He will probably follow Brandon Roy's way. Besides, he is immature, has terrible attitude and doesn't care. I was watching his interview after injury. He seemed sooo relaxed. I get more upset when I overcook my steak... Someone will go after him this summer, I hope it is not us.
  4. I would be (pleasantly) shocked if either of CP3 or Howard signed here due to the fact that we can offer them only a shorter and cheaper contract. Both of these guys have injury history and they are getting their last huge contract. They won't risk 25-30 millions. Other than that due to cap, it is not possible to sign Smoove, Teague, Harris, Korver along with CP3&Howard while keeping Horford. Besides, I think Smoove at small forward is not a good fit due to his poor outside shooting and slow feet to defend athletic small forwards (like we have seen with Melo recently). If a miracle happened and we signed both CP3 and Howard, ideal line up would be: Howard/Zaza (draft pick) Horford/Ivan/Mike Scott Korver/Stephen Jackson Lou/Jenkins CP3/(a veteran or draft pick) Salaries (approximately): Howard: 18 CP3: 18 Horford: 12 Lou: 5 Korver: 5 Jenkins: 1.5 Total: ~60 millions These salaries already eat the salary cap. We cannot sign Teague, Harris or Smoove. I would love that lineup with superstars, good role players and shooters all over the team. One can dream right?
  5. He would be a perfect fit at small forward.

    2014 Hawks?

Iguodala is opting out. I still think he will resign with the Nuggets but if he were to sign here for a reasonable money (~12-13 M per year), I would be thrilled.
  7. We are one of the most injury riddled teams in the league in recent years. At some point you have to ask whether it is just bad luck or poor conditioning/poor medical staff.
  8. I read that quote a couple of times and I can't understand what he means exactly. If playoffs is what he cares about, he has it here.

    Andrew Bynum!?

I don't like this guy even when healthy. I watched one of his recent interviews about his injury. I seem more upset when I overcook my steak. He just doesn't care.
  10. They were discussing this on Sportscenter. Guess who was commenting: Bruce Bowen :-) A guy who made a career injuring opposing players that way.
  11. He barely said anything positive about the Hawks, all the praises go to his former team. It is a little bit disappointing, but I can't totally blame him. Apparently, as an organization, we are not as desirable as the Bulls. And that is the problem exactly. The challenge is turning this organization to a desirable one. We don't just need good free agents. We need better ownership, better coaching, better management. It is not impossible, Falcons did that...
  12. I doubt Dallas would give him such a contract. For that amount of money they did not resign Tyson Chandler after the championship run. They were even hesitant to give Deron Williams the maximum. Cuban seems to be very careful with the new CBA.
  13. Yeah I am kicking myself right now. We could have this: Teague Beno Udrih Luc Mbah a Moute Horford Zaza + a couple of late first rounders How crazy would that be?
  14. We will test the market this summer. If we can get Dwight Howard or Chris Paul (unlikely), we are good. In this case we can resign Josh to a reasonable deal. If not we will let him walk and start tanking. Next summer we will try the market once again and draft a promising player. If we fail at the market again, we will keep on tanking and keep on piling promising players hoping that we don't repeat previous draft mistakes like 2005.
  15. Blew our future? Yeah, it won't be easy to watch Luc Richard Mbah a Moute and Beno Udrih with Bucks uniform.
  16. Poor guy, really? If you believe CP3 is leaving LA, I won`t call you a poor guy but I can say that you are being too naive. Anyway... Josh may ask for the max deal all day long. It doesn't mean that he is going to get it. You talk about financial flexibility but Josh is already an expiring. Funny thing is some candidates like Gortat, Ilyasova, Udoh are not expiring at all!
  17. I can't understand why we trade Josh Smith unless we get a really good value in return (unlikely). I thought the whole plan was to try pairing Josh with Dwight in here. That is why we traded Joe for scrubs, Marvin for an expiring, etc. Why did we abandon that plan all of a sudden? Did we hear anything from Dwight which strictly says that he is not coming to here? Did Josh say to Ferry that he is not resigning? If we were to trade him, Ferry should have done it in the offseason. We kept him for months for this meaningless season and now we are gonna get trash of other teams. We hope Gortat or Ilyasova will make us a playoff team next year. The thing is: WE WERE ALREADY A PLAYOFF TEAM. Seriously why did we trade Joe? I say keep him this season, let`s make one more run in the playoffs. See what happens with the circus in LA and try to bring Dwight to Atlanta. If it happens, cool. If not let Josh&Teague walk (or S&T). Even trade Horford for good draft picks. Tank for a couple of more years. Start from the beginning and hope not to make the same draft mistakes again.
  18. My take on a Josh deal has always been that Al Horford and Jeff Teague will elevate their games. But the biggest beneficiaries of the trade may be Zaza ( who will almost have to start now ) and Ivan Johnson ( unless we trade for someone who is better than Ivan ). If we didn't have Al Horford, we'd be stupid to make this move. But because we DO have Al Horford, the impact of Josh leaving won't nearly be as catastrophic as people think. ----------------------------------------------- Once Smoove leaves and Horford plays at PF, the fact that his game won't change significantly will hit hard on many people. I like Horford, I really do. But he is not a superstar. He has not been one and he won`t be one. It doesn't matter whether he plays Center, PF or punter. Center position is becoming irrelevant in the league and he already plays like a PF even though he is listed as a Center. Do you guys remember the 2011 Orlando series where he played PF (due to Zaza and Collins)? He averaged 12 pts and 10 reb against Brandon Bass. I hope I am wrong and Horford flourishes but unfortunately I think it is unlikely.
  19. Some of the offers we receive are almost disrespectful. What I don`t understand is we could have traded him in the offseason when his value was high (due to good performance last year) and he had a full year of contract. If we did not do it at that time, why do we do it now? I say keep him and try to use him as a bait to lure DH12 (slim chance). Otherwise let him walk. All we will lose is Ilyasova or Dalembert :-)
  20. In the mean time Joe Johnson won the game for Brooklyn. Just like the Cavs game last year: he forced the game to OT with a 3 and then hit the game winner at the end of OT. Good old JJ.
  21. The way Golden State played this year, even when Bogut was out, tells you about how beneficial he is.
  22. I don`t think that I will watch the game even on TV. I just can`t stand those idiots who fill the arena and chant for the Heat. I have been to Heat games in Philips Arena before Lebron. They had like 10 fans or so. The first year Lebron and Miami came to Atlanta, there were a ton of people with Cleveland #23 jerseys. The way this city watches basketball and worships superstars is just embarrasing.
  23. This is turning to a nightmare. Monta Ellis are you kidding me?
  24. Leonard would be amazing but San Antonio worked hard to get him last year, they are not giving him.
  25. Horford is already 26-27 years old. Unless he has a MIP season, which is unlikely, he is not going to be a 20-10 guy. But he is a good player on a friendly contract; I would not trade him for a pick.
