  1. But I could make a reel of him making more 3's than Batum, right?
  2. To follow that up why would KK resign if we were tanking?
  3. I don't have a dog in this fight but I couldn't help myself. Couldn't I find a youtube clip of KK's best highlights as well. Just don't know what a highlight reel does for this argument. Everyone has highlight reels, I think stats are a better argument. JMO.
  4. For the people against this signing I really don't understand. It's not that hard to move a 6 mil contract. Every contender wants shooters and will trade for a 6 mil contract. This isn't that hard to figure out. So who cares? For those who want to tank this signing will not effect this possibility as he will be easy to trade. Its kind of like 1 + 1 = 2
  5. I agree we all can agree to disagree I guess we will find out down the road. Lets not forget we are all Hawks fans and want the best for the team. There is just more ways to skin a cat than just one.
  6. I'm leaning with you I don't think he is coming as well and will eat my words as well if it happens.
  7. Yes, that is part of the philosophy when signing players. Sign to reasonable deal if we decide to go in a different direction then we can trade them because the contract isn't a bad one. It's clear you are in favor of tanking and are convinced that everyone coming out in the top 5 picks next year are going to be hall of famers. They may or may not, but signing Korver isn't going to hinder this team. For what it is worth if are season is going down the tubes we can trade at the deadline since he has a reasonable contract and go on the tanking plan for a hall of fame draft pick.
  8. 6 million in the grand scheme of things is not a hard contract to move, unbelievable
  9. Yep 6 million a year is a waste of cap space, boy that is going to handcuff us forever like the JJ contract. Come on, think before you type.
  10. Where do these guys come from? 12 posts I'm guessing all are negative. I'm not sure but willing to bet.
  11. I would make a run at Cousins, I'd be happy with the frontline of Cousins and Horford. Don't know if its possible, but I would like to explore the possibility.
  12. I agree, yes it would be nice to have a pick in the top 5, but fans are losing interest and none of the top NBA players take this organization seriously. Ferry needs to change this perception by getting a superstar to commit. Similar to what Reggie White did with the Packers. The Packers were horrible, White went there perception changed. They started getting better free agents and having good drafts. Hawks need to make a similar impact with a significant free agent. What good does all the cap room do if no wants to play here. If we can't convince Paul and Howard to come, what makes anyone think next years crop of free agents are going to be any different? Throw in the fact that if the team tanks, no superstar will want to come here. I think we all agree we need a superstar or two to win a championship in today's NBA. Also, you better hit a home run on every draft pick, since you won't get any top free agents. Everyone says follow the Spurs model, well the Spurs had two stars in Robinson and Duncan. They hit with their late round picks in Parker and Manu. They didn't get top free agents. If the Hawks follow this model they better well land the #1 pick in two drafts that have can't miss hall of famers. Bottom line DF needs to change the perception of the Hawks for the team to be taken seriously. Its DF's job to get some of these superstars to believe in the Hawks. Can't always rely on the draft.
  13. I would at least you can say that you attended the NBA Draft. I'm always down for trying new things out, you should go.
  14. Just cause you're a Dolphin fan doesn't mean that your basketball team can get all the marquee players as well! A guy can dream right
  15. Maybe the vet is Durant. Would that be enough to entice Howard? Durant and Horford with Howard on the front line. So 17 &18 should get Durant, right?
  16. I would sign Bynum to a one year deal. I think Bynum will do it. The reason his value is low now with no chance of a max deal. A one year deal would allow him to prove that he is healthy and one of the elite centers in the league. This would allow him to go after a max deal next year if he is healthy and plays to an all star level. If he is a bust so what he is gone after one year.
  17. Just don't understand all the Lebron hate??????? Haters are going to hate. Because of the three things he did that Dolfan pointed out, don't make me laugh. If that is the only thing negative about the guy give me a break. Those are minor. People are making it a mountain out of a mole hill. The guy is a hard worker, good teammate, and a good work ethic. Geez what horrible qualities? Meanwhile guys are doing drugs, killing people, beating their wives, banging prostitutes, having kids with numerous women, etc.... I don't believe LBJ has ever been associated with any of the above. I grew up in the era of Larry, Magic, Isiah, Barkley, Jordan, and Nique. Hell Nique is my favorite player of all time. I'm still pissed he is not on the 50 greatest team, Worthy is, come on man. However Nique was not as good as LeBron. I think people now days hate to have things shoved down their throat. That is what ESPN, NBA, and other networks do with LeBron. I can see how that would piss people off, being told who you should like. Hell I have never watched an episode of Seinfeld because everyone on this planet tells me how great it is and that its the best show on tv ever. I just don't watch out of spite because people force it on me. On a side note I know I would probably love it since I love Curb Your Enthusiasm. Back to my original point I was making, since we are being crammed down with LBJ our natural tendency is to hate and then fall back to the back in my day argument. You know this one everything and every person was better when I was younger. I love this one. Let's live in the past and never grow and evolve. Believe it or not players get better and so does life as you get older. It doesn't always get worse. So now every player in my era is suppose to be better than LBJ because that was when we were young and everything was better then. I dare you to go back and watch some of those games and you will notice, what they were doing back then wasn't that much spectacular than today. The only exception would be Jordan. That guy does stand the test of time. Yes this era may have done it first, but the guys today do it just as good if not better. I watched that Dr J documentary the other day and they showed one of his signature moves, you know the one palming the bball swirling under the backboard and making a reverse layup. Unbelievable. At the end of the documentary they showed the same move and then showed Lebron doing the same exact move and god he made it look just as easy as Dr J if not easier. Afterwards LBJ credited Dr. J as one of the greats of all time and paving the way for him. Boy the LBJ is a horrible guy, LOL. I use to have fights with friends growing up about Nique and Jordan. I was the only one that would say Nique was better. I remember during an all star game when Nique missed a break away dunk and my buds heckled me. I threw everyone out of my house because I was so mad. Couldn't stand Jordan hated him (similar to the haters of LBJ on this board). I sounded like a lot of others on this board. Conspiracy theories to allow Jordan to win, if other guys had Pippen, Grant, or Rodman they would win as well. After awhile I took a step back and watched more Jordan games and it hit me that I was watching greatness. That I needed to appreciate what I was seeing. After this I realized how ignorant and stupid I sounded when I was bashing him. People can hate LBJ or like/love him. That is up to them. I just want to add you are watching greatness. Hell Magic after his second championship the other night said he could go down as the greatest of all time. I think he knows a little something about bball and he played in the era that everyone puts on a pedestal. I will say Magic can embellish for tv and today's society over reacts so quickly with social media and wanting to be first with information, however LBJ's greatness isn't an over reaction. All I can recommend is to sit back and enjoy his talent. I didn't with Jordan and I regret all the hate I had during that time that I couldn't appreciate more what I was watching. Now the debate on Jordan and LBJ will go on. I can't side either way at this time, I would like to see the rest of LBJ's career first. As much as I hate to say it LBJ is much better than Nique ever was and most of the other players of that era. Doesn't mean that our era was bad, just means we are seeing something different now. Something great. Enjoy him and since DF was his GM in Cleveland maybe next year we can get him to opt out and play with the Hawks.
  18. One of the best games I've ever watched. I'm not a Heat or Spurs fan. I like Lebron and want to see a good series. So happy to see a game 7 as basketball fans its fun to watch. I don't think the refs stole this game from the Spurs. Yes there were questionable calls down the stretch, but I don't think they were outrageous. Heat got strange calls as well. Let's not forget the layup Lebron had in OT where Green swiped down on his chest and hand and Lebron lost the ball out of bounds. This was the same as the Manu play. If you aren't going to call that on the Lebron play you can't call it for Manu. As for the last block you can't call it. The block was clean. Yes there was contact on the body after the shot. I felt it had no effect on the shot. By the letter of the law yes a foul but a good no call unless you are a Spurs fan. Pop did make some strange player personal decisions down the stretch. The fact you can argue either way proves that it wasn't the norm. I really don't care who wins I just pull for Lebron because of all the hate he gets. The only thing this guy has done wrong was the stupid made for tv "Decision" which you can hate ESPN as much as Lebron for that show. He plays hard and that is all you can ask for a guy that plays on your team. Keeps out of trouble and works hard. What's not to like about the guy, oh by the way another triple double for the guy. Now he is second to Magic in triple doubles in post season. Not bad for a guy that 90% of the world hates. Can't figure out all the hate. As basketball fans its great to have a game 7. Let's hope we get a game like we just had last night.
  19. Boy this thread is getting out of control. Emotions are high. I just think its funny that if anyone presents another opinion that defers from the other they don't know anything. Apparently you either hate Dwight or ride his D!@#. There are good points to both sides of the argument, unfortunately neither side can see it since they are caught up on one side of the argument. Hopefully, DF can step back and take a look at all of the pros and cons and make the best decision for the organization. For the record I would like DH here. But to ignore the fact that he is a drama queen is ridiculous. Leadership I appreciate the knowledge you bring, but I have seen everyone of Dwight's games here in Orlando, since I've lived here for the last 20 years and it wasn't always puppy dogs and ice cream. I'm not a super reporter (just know the word on the street from those who are inside the organization). Even when the Magic were winning DH was a big P!#@@. He always wanted attention, thus he wanted to go to a big market. He always put off the blame to others and would always be fighting with SVG. He now acknowledges that SVG was tough on him to make him a better ball player and has mended this relationship. I think this is hitting him now because he realizes the grass isn't always greener being in a big market. Hopefully the one thing he will take this year with the Lakers is to take some of that attitude Kobe has and put it into his personality. Yet it goes without saying what trumps this attitude is his talent. Thus that is why every team wants this guy and you ignore his clear personality/attitude flaws. You would hope that we would land CP3 to keep that in check. Then this team would CP3's team and everyone else on the team would fall in line. Like I said to begin good points on both sides of this argument. Yet I still would want DH on the Hawks because of what he can bring to this team along with the other pieces we add in the off season and that would be a Championship. Atlanta Hawks NBA Champions, boy that sounds good. Don't think we aren't going to get it anytime soon without DH and CP3.
  20. There is no way the Lakers trade Howard to their crosstown rival in the Clippers. They will let him walk before that happens. They aren't going to have the Clippers outshine them in their own town and building.
  21. According to my best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw Dwight and CP3 pass out at dinner last night. I guess it's pretty serious and could effect their free agent discussions. Just joking with you Sothron
  22. I wonder if Dwight and Paul were talking about how good Harden is at dinner? If not, they click on this thread.
