  1. Good win for the Hawks! The game should have been a blow out but props to the Hawks by not letting Millsap's rust and Al's injury or the officiating to be an excuse not to win.
  2. 10 million is overpaying for him. This Hawks regime is all about giving fair deals instead of overpaying like under Sund. I'd give him the same deal Ariza got this summer, a front-loaded 4 year 32 million dollar deal. They're close in age too and have the same impact for their respective teams. Millsap, I'd give him a similar deal to what Boozer got when he signed with Chicago (5 years 80 million). I don't think the Hawks can offer him a 5th year so that would make his deal 4 years 64 million.
  3. Keep: Everyone but Jenkins and Daye
  4. Millsap signed a short term when he signed with ATL. He's 30 now so I assume this is his last chance to get a major pay day, especially coming off two back-to-back All-Star games. I think he'll take a front loaded deal like Korver and Thabo did starting at $15 million a year. DMC like Millsap, signed a short term deal when he signed with ATL. Although he's 28, this is only his 2nd season as a starter so he can only get better in the Hawks system. I assume he'll sign a front loaded deal starting at $7 million a year. I see him in the same tier as the prime Ariza and Prince.
  5. I'm not. I understand rebounding is an issue but it's not like the recent Heat championship teams were great in rebounds, they're actually worse in rebounds than the Hawks.
  6. Yeah Pero is underrated. I admit I was hard on him early in the season but after paying attention to the stuff he does that doesn't show up on the stat sheets like setting screens, the spacing he provides when he's on the floor and his play making ability, I can see why Bud trusts him.
  7. One of the biggest strengths of this year's team is depth, however, other teams don't have that luxury. Some of the bench players the Hawks have could probably start on other teams. I know it's unlikely the Hawks would deal one of their starters but what if a team offers a 1st round pick for Dennis Schröder or Mike Scott. I see Schröder in the same mold as George Hill (Spurs), Darren Collison (Hornets) and Eric Bledsoe (Clippers), backup point guards that could netted their former team more assets. Maybe Scott could be a starter a stretch 4 starter like Draymond Green. Thoughts?
  8. Getting his chemistry back down with the team. Korver would be my MVP of the Hawks pick. If you exclude the first Hawks/Cavs game, he has an impact in every aspect of the game from his 3 point shooting, help defense, rebounding and play making (which is an underrated aspect about him).
  9. Yeah those two are probably the two biggest teams in the East. Rebounding keeps them in the game. Fortunately, they don't have enough offense to outscore the Hawks.
  10. They're feeding him the ball more and his shots are going in. Teague and Horford got their chemistry back from last season and him and Millsap play well off each other.
  11. I agree. Antić is an underrated player. He does his role well but he's no Al Horford. Hawks don't have another center who's a match up problem like he is, quick, threat from the mid range and solid defender, literally can mirror Millsap's play while playing alongside him. Yeah Hawks substituted offense from defense, making the move getting rid of Lou and bringing in Thabo so the Hawks can always have an elite defender on the floor throughout the game which they didn't have last season.
  12. Same thing I was thinking. I'd consider Korver and Horford for MVP chants.
  13. Moose's googles never get old.
  14. I understand Charles. A Bud coached team has not made it out of the first round, Hawks have to prove it. Playoffs is a whole new season. I think the Hawks could beat a healthy Wizards team but I'm not sure how they'll match up with a healthy Bulls team, we've yet to see this year's team play the Bulls team completely healthy.
  15. No, just Korver, Millsap and Horford. Teague has been inconsistent this season. I can recall several games where he was outplayed by Mack and Dennis. However, I can say he's outplayed Wall, Kyrie and Lowry, when he faced up against them. Some strange reason he struggles against Jennings of all people. More than likely I could see Teague, Millsap and Horford making it.
  16. Oh wow I had no idea he was offered a long-term deal. If anything, I thought he was underpaid leaving Utah. I guess he signed a short term deal as a prove it deal to get an even bigger deal in ATL or elsewhere. Millsap is definitely worth more than 9 mil a year. If I was him, I'd sign a one year deal so he can get one last pay day in 2016. IMO, he's the best PF in free agency for 2015 and 2016 (if he signed a 1 year deal).
  17. It's great to see Al is getting some love by the media.
  18. I think Payne will be fine. I just wonder how he'd fit in the rotation. I can't see Antić and Millsap leaving next season and they still have Horford and Scott under contract next season so I'm wondering would he literally be playing next season as much as Muscula did this season. For somebody to be drafted as a 1st round pick, I figured there could be a situation where he could be a legit contributor off the bench if he isn't being groomed to start, not until his 3rd season with the way things are looking. Scott's contract is not guaranteed for the 2016-17 season.
  19. I wonder how his buyout situation is. If they get his buyout done, I could see him replacing Brand.
