Great question. They signed the new TV deal in 2016-2017 season and it expires in 9 years. So the ninth year is the 2024 - 2025 season. 2023 - 2024 is probably when Dre and Cam's new deals will kick in. So they may only be in the luxury tax for a couple of seasons. It'll be interesting.

I may be misinterpreting this, but some said that the Bucks were easier to defend with Giannis on the court. Without him, Jrue and Middleton got way more aggressive because the lane wasn't as clogged and exposed the Hawks perimeter defense much more without Giannis as the offense was being run through him.

lol.. The Hawks defense is key to any championship run. When Dre and Cam come back they Hawks will be one of the better defenses. Cam and Dre are also key offensive pieces. With a healthy wing rotation the Hawks are a nightmare. We have to have health to make this championship run no matter how deep we are. Milwaukee is a great team. They only lost to one team at home this playoffs run. That was Trae Young and our Atlanta Hawks in their first playoff run. We are good and they are great. With more experience we will probably be great too. The Bucks will be a tough out and I'm glad the Hawks are up and coming. It'll make a great rivalry. I only root against Giannis when he plays the Hawks.

I'd go with three point shooting as I believe that'll open up even more of his game for himself and teammates. I want to see improvement to around 38% next season. I voted for off ball movement because that'll do the same thing as three point shooting.

This is a tricky one. I think we are now championship contenders for the next five years at a minimum. To me that means, we will be in the ECF at a minimum two years out of the next five years. Those are the loftiest my expectations get. It all depends on the development of the core. If any two of Collins, Huerter, Reddish, Hunter, or Okongwu reach their maximum potential, I see the Hawks winning it all in the next few seasons. The Bucks are a quality team and they will be contending in the next few seasons. I'm encouraged by the Hawks matching up with them because I believe Dre' and Cam are much better defenders than anything the Suns have. Bridges is great though, but we have two to shut down Middleton and Jrue. That's the key to stopping the Bucks. The Nets window is also the Bucks window. Their depth will suffer over the next few seasons because of the huge contracts on their books. Can they stay healthy and what quality depth will they have for the playoffs? Philly - They will still be tough. it'll be interesting what moves they make to round out the roster. The Celtics - I don't see them being on the same tier as the four teams above. Miami - It's over move on. Charolette - With Lamelo, Gordan, and the rest of the cast. I see them being a solid playoff team.

You didn't make the part about giving him 33 minutes very clear. You were talking about 16 minutes and went on to discussing 33 minute averages. So I assumed you were still discussing rookie season. My bad. I went back and rewatched some scouting videos of Sharife and you are correct. I was over exaggerating how bad his form was, but it still needs to be reworked. I guess I was outterly shocked as he fell back on his shot during my first watch of him. He will be able to get to the rim, but the finishing will still be rough do to his size. His dribble is tight and he is really quick. I won't be disappointed if the Hawks draft him. He is the same tier as the guards I listed above right now to me.

Cooper's biggest red flag is his shooting and form. I don't believe he will get to the rim in the NBA and his floater isn't that good. I mean I like the kid and if he puts it all together he does have star potential. I only look at draft picks for what the Hawks need. To me, Tre, Butler, Springer, and Bones fit the bill better for what we need. Cooper will probably take more time, but if he hits you're right he could be one of the most dynamic guards in the league. I just think it will take him a while to adjust. The passing will probably translate right away, but everything else will take a little more time. 20/9/4 is a better rookie season than Trae Young and Ja Morant. I don't see that happening, but would be happy for him if it did and then sad the Hawks didn't draft him.

I should add I agree with your analysis here. I think Cade will be really good, but probably will be better suited as a number 2 do it all on a championship squad. Green to me is just like wow! The ability to score is off the charts. I think once he grows into his body, he'll get to the line a little more. I think he has the most upside in this draft.

Same with me with Cooper. It'll be interesting to see how both guys turn out. No lie, Cooper probably has a higher ceiling if he can figure out how to shoot and his free throw rate transfers, but to me Tre's floor is much much higher when considering his size, shooting ability and I believe he will have a bigger impact next season. We can all say wow this guy may be the next Trae Young, but Trae is literally generational. I don't see that with Cooper. His passing is, but Trae's shooting ability and foul drawing is what makes him special. Also, I believe Coopers spot up shooting was horrible this season too. Although his free throw rate and shooting were excellent, his shot is broken with bigger faster players, I don't see him being that great in the NBA. I also don't see his defense being much better than Trae's. I like Tre, Butler, Bones, Springer, and Cooper for the 20th pick if we are going guard. Ziaire Williams if he's there and we are going wing.

Sharifer Cooper - His shot scares the crap out of me. It's one of the worst shots I've seen. If he was making it, he'd be a sure fire lottery talent. If a team thinks they can fix his shot, then he is a lottery talent. I'm just way too afraid it won't be fixed. Cam Thomas - I believe he is late lottery to early 20's. The kid has true scoring ability. The Knicks or Sixers should be very interested in him. Tre Mann - I'm assuming you are referring to his wingspan? He's 6'3.25 w/o shoes and that's up from a reported 6'2" in prior years. He's a good size for a backup combo guard. I see a lot more translatable things in his game than Sharife's. Sharife's passing is light years ahead of Tre's, but Tre's shooting is light year's ahead of Shairfe's. For me, it depends on what a team wants. I think Tre would be a better fit for the Hawks because he can score when the second unit needs scoring and he's a good pick and roll passer. He has Tre's range and float game and that would be great for the backup. I also think Bogi and Kevin will take some of the playmaking responsibilities with the second unit too. I've also become higher on Jared Butler, Bones, and Jared Springer lately. I'm probably crazy, but I think Green has the potential to be a number 1 on a playoff team. I don't see that with Cade. I think he's very good and has star role player potential. Maybe that sounds rough, but I think Cade is very very good at everything, but won't be great at one thing. I reserve the right to retract this when Cade comes in and lights the league on fire.

Trae - I want to see Trae improve his 3 point shooting and continue to decrease his turnovers. That'll go a long way with the Hawks being a top 3 seed. Cam just needs to show offensive consistency this season. Meaning improved handle so he can get to the basket and finish better, more consistent outside shot. and continue to be a dog on defense. I don't need Cam to shoot 40% or anything, but if he improves his percentages to about 44% from the field and 35 to 36% three, I'll be very encouraged about his ceiling. Hunter - He still can improve his three point shot. In the beginning of the season, he was hitting around 38-40%, but that declined as the season went on. I believe most of that had to do with his knee bothering him though. I hope he comes back fully healthy. Kevin - He's basically answered all the questions we had for him. I believe he'll be best fit as the sixth man. He needs to improve his spot up three shooting and overall three percentage. I believe he will. He needs to focus on improving his finishing at the rim and getting to the line. The key for him this season was finding his spot in the midrange. Okongwu - He's probably going to have a pretty good jump considering this will be his first healthy off season with the team. John - I want to see what John improves on after getting paid. He hit some really big shots from the corner three. If he comes back with an improved handle, the league should be put on notice. Gallo - I hope he comes back in better shape. The extra bulk helped him in the playoffs, but after his injury you can clearly see he lost some of his fitness. Bogi - I want to see March and April Bogi all next season. I'd like to see him getting to the foul line a little more. Capella - Work on those freethrows and find one solid go to move that he can use at the basket. This Hawks' core just has so much potential if they keep improving.

If he's medically cleared and there at 20, the only question about him is what number will he wear. Cause number 12 is currently occupied on the Hawks' roster. . Edit: And just like that he's medically cleared. I'm not sure he'll be there at 20 though. The Hawks have so many quality options at 20. 1. Tre Man 2. Jared Butler, 3. Jared Springer 4. Shairef (sp) Cooper 5. Ziaire Williams 6. Josh Christopher 7. Bones Neyland ( if he's still there in the second round, you run to the podium). My initial pause on Jared was I thought he was older than he was. I was confusing him with the guy that's 24 years old. Jared is only 20 and I believe he was a Junior last year. He'd be a great backup PG option when considering all the things he brings to the table.

From what I've read, a 4 year max from another team puts John at 4 years $117 million with is an average of about $28 million per year. Travis was rumored to offer John 4 years $90 million or an average of about $22.5 million per year. A difference of about $5.5 million per year. That's not going to make or break the decisions on Cam and Hunter.
