Bud IS trying to be the smartest guy in the room. He is NOT running the Spurs system set for set. He is taking the Spurs system, and EXPANDING it to the wings with his bigs. Some "coordinators" are MEANT to be coordinators and not head coaches.......Bud appears to be one of those. Like Josh Daniels up in New England. Great offensive coordinator, but he cant LEAD a team. He CANT make adjustments as the head coach. Thats bud all the way....

But but, its the SYSTEM the Hawks run. They dont need superstars or allstars.............

Hawks DEFINITELY need toughness. Its a shame that Cleveland has a GUARD, a GUARD that brings them toughness along with Mosgov and Thompson, while the Hawks sit back and LET Sap get manhandled every game. They dont want Howard, neither one of the Lopez brothers, ill throw another name out there. ZEBO. The Hawks play small up front anyway, why not have a REAL banger up there helping Sap.

Patterson looks like the better player. In fact, Holiday would be getting some minutes too. I like guards that can create off the dribble.

Now, i will say this, in my opinion, Teague's lack of play is what makes the knicks better. If Teague played up to his potential every night, i would say the Hawks have the better roster. A poster mentioned it above and i agree.

To me, Arron Afflalo puts them over the Hawks roster. Didnt the Hawks even LOOK at him back when he was a free agent last year? If they had signed him, the Hawks shooting weakness from the wings wouldnt be there this year. Just destroyed the Hawks the other night.

Which is what Barkley kept saying and people didnt wanna hear it. He predicted BEFORE the season started how this would play out. I was upset about him being down on the Hawks, but he was right. Without a big time move to acquire talent, it is what it is with the Hawks. A good, but not great team.

Turn it on?? They couldve gotten beat by a terrible 8 seed Brooklyn team and were one Horford rebound from losing the next series.

Which brings me BACK to the talent question. For some reason, San Antonio has ALWAYS gotten labeled as a team that wins with its system. Nothing can be further from the truth. Its the combinations of TALENT and that system. The Hawks have the system, but they dont have players that can create and take pressure off having to hustle 100 percent in that system. San Antonio can have effort off nights, but still win on talent. Thats the difference.

problem IS...........they played like this AFTER the allstar break last year, all the way thru the playoffs. they havent looked like a contender since last year BEFORE the allstar break and EVERYBODY knows it. People were saying the SAME thing late last year, " relax". " they can turn it on ", etc. etc.

From what i saw the last two games, i THINK that just MAYBE they do. Hawks didnt lose because of lack of rebounding, the knicks just look more TALENTED than the Hawks. To me, they CLEARLY have the better starting five. How is it that the Knicks went from the bottom of the Eastern Conference, to having a better roster than the team in the best record in the East, in ONE off season??? point guard, we have the edge, shooting guard, knicks all the way, small forward, knicks all the way, power forward, sap has come on hard, so i give the hawks the edge NOW. center, a push. the bench, knicks have the edge.

I was referring to the play after the timeout at the END of the game where they ran inside. I didnt see the whole game, so, i assumed bud was doing it all game. my bad.

I dont know whats wrong with Korver, but it aint working. Dude needs to be the LAST 2 coming off the bench at this point......

Brings that toughness that Sap needs besides him. I know he had issues, but toughness wasnt one of them. Hawks could sign him as a role player, because OBVIOUSLY, thats the route they going when they give Horford a max. I like this Hawks team, i really do, but they missing that ONE ingredient that gets you over in the playoffs, toughness. I dont care about "system", Johnson would be in there just to bring toughness to the Hawks. Tired of seeing teams just disrespect the Hawks front court because they know its a FINESSE front court. Maybe another chance in the league would make Johnson more appreciate it and help his game. I wouldnt mind seeing him for 15 minutes a game WITH Sap and Horford on the court. I wouldnt care if Horford took shots from Half court as long as Sap has SOMEBODY helping him on the boards.

funny how Al looks better when the COACH runs plays where Horford finishes AT the basket like he did last night..........Bud did several things that i pointed out yesterday before the game: play tavares, run sets where Horford finishes at the rim. During the KEY bucket Horford made late in the game after a Hawk timeout, bud did exactly that........do it EVERY game and ditch the spread crap with Horford.
