  1. I mean franchise player and top tier superstars are different. Al Horford was a franchise player here. I'd say it means a guy you build your team around and don't consider getting rid of. So I'd say the franchise players in the NBA is a long list. We don't have one now as everyone could be moved for the right price I'd guess. I know some stars just got traded, but that was in a contract year, so I'm not counting that.
  2. That's fine I suppose. I'd love to keep that under 4 years unless they include a team option. 2 years and an option is what I want out of Tim, or at least not more than 3. When the Bazemore and Plumlee deals come off the books, I don't want money tied up in Hardaway in case there's a chance at forming our own contender with that cash.
  3. Look, the whole Suns and Kings stuff is just to drive up his price. I can almost guarantee that he will meet with the Suns just to get that 4 year max offer and then be able to say to other teams that he has that on the table so they will offer more.
  4. Well with just Jimmy Butler added to last years team, I think they will make the playoffs. Wiggins won't have to guard the other teams best wing anymore which should help him a ton. I'm scared they will be the 4 seed at this point.
  5. I mean yeah 15 points and 7 assists would make him an isncredible player.
  6. It's all D-League second team not defense. I've never watched him, but he averaged 15.8 pts and 9.8 assists. Why the hell not sign him since we have half the roster open?
  7. I agree that it's notable that he didn't mention Dennis. Strange since he's the same age as Taurean.
  8. I love Paul looking out for the Hawks. Unlike some people. Windhorst also said that Millsap won't resign with the Hawks, and the Hawks will not try to keep him.
  9. Or we can have good fans like Philly and form a cult around the tank. They have so much fun there worshipping at the alter of Hinkie. There's hype there for that more than there was ever hype for anything here. I know i will be more interested in the losing team than a winning team because at least I get to watch young guys play instead of old guys. Plus I get to focus on the draft year round instead of after playoff elimination which is much better than what was previously happening. Just the way I think about sports. It's either watch a championship team now or think about how the team can be a championship 5 years from now.
  10. Millsap at this age, yeah. Millsap at 37? Probably not.

    Good bye Dunleavy

    The end of an era
  12. He's 33 if the conspiracy is to be believed. He's supposedly 30, but the story is there was a guy named Arsen Ilyasov from Uzbekistan born in 1984 who moved to Turkey and disappeared. Then Ersan's dad said he had forgotten to register his son at birth and he was born in 1987. I'm not sure how true all that info is, but that's what's out there.
  13. Hey maybe the Raptors can give us a pick and Demarre to clear space to sign Lowery and Ibaka. Now that's a salary dump I wouldn't mind.
  14. True. Maybe if we kept Demarre for what he's really worth and didn't pay Baze that stupid deal. We still would have had to lose one of the point guards this offseason, but that team was like the perfect team of role players for a superstar to come in and win with. It's a shame that didn't happen and the window has closed.
  15. If the 60 win team was still together. I'd love to run it back for awhile, because I believe that team was one star away. However, some questionable decisions, specifically last offseason, ruined it. Now we have to start over is what I'm saying.
  16. I can get that, but it ain't up to the social media people to make deals.
  17. All I'm saying is stadium renovations have nothing to do with the acquiring players. They are done by two different groups and one does not stop the other. Let's just enjoy these nice renovations. The only reason to be mad about it is if you are mad at the tourist taxes paying for it.
  18. Lebron, KD, Kawhi, Curry, Harden, CP3, Westbrook, Anthony Davis, John wall, PG13, Butler, Cousins, Giannis, Draymond, and I'll end with Millsap because of bias, but he should be on the decline. KAT, Jokic, and Porzingis should be on their way into this group. Lillard, Kyrie, and Hayward could be argued into the top 15 now. Hell, KAT also has a case already.
  19. We will see what the market is, but McLemore and MCW would be worth having on the real cheap to see if we can mold their physical talents. Dedmon would be cool. Ian Clark is a guy I'd really like if Dorsey spends the year in the G-League.
  20. Sorry. That isn't in their 30s. I meant draft someone under 25 specifically so through the draft. That is what elevates a franchise. Getting a centerpiece without giving up assets.
  21. Ya gotta do what ya gotta do. Hopefully it happens sooner rather than later. I'm not talking Lebron or Durant level though. I'm saying all nba level. So top 15 I guess. I think if we get one of those, we can convince top guys to come here. As of now, we can't.
  22. I can say. You have a much better perspective on this than I do. I'm sure almost everyone here does. I didn't watch the NBA until Coachella Bud got here. The only context I have to make my opinions on supporting a losing team and being okay with it is the Falcons. Even recently, they were bad for 2, mediocre for 1, and then elite. I know there is more parity in football than basketball, but I was fine suffering for a little while because I knew better times were coming. Look, all I want is that guy for the franchise. The one where you see their jersey all over town. Sucking is pretty much the only way to get that, and getting that is pretty much the only way to get a ring or even compete for one.
  23. Bruh... people making personnel decisions have nothing to do with what happens with the stadium. Come on now. I know Hawks fans want to act like this is a snake bitten franchise that can do nothing right, but this is a reeeeeeeeach.
  24. Not if Schlenk was hired with that plan of rebuilding in mind. And we obviously differ in philosophies. I'd rather be on a treadmill in the lottery than outside of it. At least then we have a chance to get the golden child who will lead us to a championship. Now it's just so blah. I like to watch the Hawks, but I know it's all pointless in the end. At least if I watched the Hawks go young and lose, it would be for a purpose.
