  1. Maybe not on a game to game basis, but I'm much more invested in the team now than then. To be fair, the 60 win team is what made me a big basketball fan in the first place, but I still didn't watch every game even during the winning streak. Now I really want to watch every Hawks game because I just want to watch John Collins play. I spend much more time online looking at basketball stuff becaus I am so psyched for the future of this team. It's like the whole year is draft season which I think is the best time of the year. Even when I was watching like 20 basketball games a year I still wouldn't miss a pick of the draft.
  2. His grandfather was a two time allstar for the Hawks in 1969 and 1970. It'd be cool if he played here too. I feel like he's destined for Phoenix though. He could be the hometown hero for them.
  3. I never believed we were contenders though. I had a ton of fun watching that month, by now I just feel so hopeful for the future. If John Collins didn't look so good it wouldn't be fun, and I'd be a lot less hopeful. Watching a guy who just turned 20 dropping double doubles in 20 minutes in half of his first 4 games has my psyched. That could be the kind of player who lures talent to your team in free agency.
  4. The Hawks are tanking and I'm having more fun than I ever had watching basketball
  5. Watching him play doesn't scream generational talent to me, but there's something about his vibe that screams NBA star. I can't judge him until I watch him play in college though. I just have a baseless good feeling about him. I don't think he's going to be like KD like some people say. He reminds me of Jabari Parker but with a better shot.
  6. We just have to keep collecting the L's. 1-3 is 3-1 for what to the Hawks right now.
  7. You're definitely better off with a guy who can play all 5 positions. The Greek Freak isn't like most players though.
  8. Of course I would have! I meant Center Centers not centers with the skill sets of forwards. If Bamba or Ayton have a skillset like that (I've only watched some highlights of each but I'm skeptical) then of course you take them top three. Like even if Bamba turned out to be a Gobert type player, that's not good enough for what this franchise needs. If they kiss out on the first three potential franchise carriers, he could definitely be a key piece though.
  9. He's definitely got a chance to be. I'm not big on taking a true center in the top 3 though. I'd say my list, as of now, is: Doncic Porter/Bagley III (We will see how they do in college before I make this call) Bamba Ayton thats subject to shuffle around a lot based on actually see them playing in college, but for now I'd be happy with any of them.
  10. Yeah. Winning ain't the goal. Getting the young guys better is what's important
  11. I mean, if it were me, I'd be playing the baptist almost all game and giving him the full green light. I don't even care if we are losing, he gets me hyped. He's getting a bunch of fouls in just 20 minutes though, so we might see him hit the bench early anyway. I say he probably will sit the bench until Ily it Dedmon get moved at the deadline.
  12. If there are good deals, trade anyone. Except John Collins. He's safe until we get a feel for what kind of player he is. Taurean and Bembry are realtively safe too for now because of rookie contracts. I love Dennis, but there's a lot of better point guards.
  13. So he'll end up guarding Iggy when they play the warriors. Curry and IT can not guard each other. Wade can guard Klay, Bron guards KD, Crowder guards Iguadola, and Love guards Draymond. That's pretty nice for Cleveland in the only matchup they care about.
  14. When you have nothing on your roster you draft what's best no matter what. Also, John Collins will see significant time at center I'm sure.
  15. John Collins is the lone bright spot of this team. Dedmon looks good, but he'll only be here for a year if he actually is good. At least having a 20 year old ball out is one pretty big bright spot.
  16. I can't see it happening without some allstar level breakout players. If the team backs up into the playoffs like they did last year, that's very very detrimental to the future. The good news is, this team should be terrible. Much more terrible that the other teams in the bottom of the east. Our best player is an average PG.
  17. All those signings would be very good for this season. I'm very pro tank, but adding young pieces won't make the team too good, and can create an environment for a star to shine when we finally find one. Green and Simmons feel like they could end up like Demarre and Millsap in terms of striking gold on a bargain.
  18. Two minutes and twenty seconds of dunks from 4 games. John the Baptist is already my favorite player.
  19. Well sports writers have already started using John the Baptist and he's even posted it on Instagram.
  20. His nickname is John The Baptist
  21. They have THJ $71 million. These aren't rational people
  22. I'd do it for a Knicks pick. They are stupid, maybe they'll just give it to us.
  23. He's a good player and that's a very good contract. I hope we don't win too many games because of him though.
  24. Both he and Schlenk said that in regards to his bad defense in college.
