Oh and holy typos, batman ....

Bontemps doesn’t go into any detail as to which player the Nuggets would be trying to send to L.A. beyond listing the Nuggets tree large expiring deals: Kenneth Faried, Darrell Arhtur and Wilson Chandler.

C'mon, Slink.  Get in on some-a this action, bawse.  Get us some FRP's!!

    End game right here.

David Griffin was on NBARadio in his normal appearance.  Basically said SAS do not operate in the media.  Their real intentions are done between them and people they trust, i.e. the myriad of former Spur front office people in the league.  The noise you hear is what SAS releases in order to drive up people's price.

He hinted that PHI with Brown would be his best guess.  Went on a 2 minute diatribe on reasons why then said "... oh but that's just my guess, I haven't talked to anybody, blah. blah"

The last time he did that, he called Kyrie to BOS.  The next day it happened.

I was a fan of the Adrien Payne pick.

But I see too much of Payne in what I've seen of Spellman to get very excited about that one. '

Interestingly, so did whoever wrote up the NBAdraft.net piece.

In fact, I see more of Draymond Green in Payne's college game than I do in Spellman's. He'd have to shed about 10-15 pounds to even be considered in that mold from where I sit.

    Not drinking that kool-aid.

Dang, sturt.  Gotta walk in on a @Spud2nique 'n kg party like ...

    spud is definitely Carlton.

Seriously though, I'm in wait-n-see mode on Spellman.  I hate hearing guys having to take special care not to get fat.  I mean, you know from like 15 on that you'll at least try to be a pro athlete.  Seems 'staying in shape' should be automatic.

I did find the hype on Doncic a bit overwhelming. Dirk will be 5th in scoring all time once this season is over. They may as well have been calling him the next Oscar Robertson ( 9th in scoring, 6th in assist ). If Doncic can be as good as Porzingis in his first year; that will be a huge success for him.

The only way Doncic eclipses what Dirk does (career-wise) would be for the NBA to institute real testing for weed thus relegating the league to the aging, unathletic dudes he's been used to playing against.

Jockic is a RFA. So, the Hawks can really turn the screws on Denver by signaling they will offer a max or near max salary for him. This could force Denver into giving us what we want from a trade. Whether that is Porter or Lyles or something else, it seems the Hawks are in the driver seat here. My suspicion is that in the draft Denver was balking at some of Atlanta's trade demands, and that is what the trade wasn't made.

IIUC, the activities DEN/Jokic are proposing will make him an UFA with a handshake deal that they're doing so in order for him to sign with them.  Thus avoiding restricted free ageny or stte.

I think the two players the Hawks would target are Porter and Lyles.

    Porter yes, Lyles nah.

Denver is going to make a move to free up cap. I hate to say this but Faried to Dallas, if they strike out on Cousins, would be a good fit.

Smelling like Deandre Jordan to DAL is likely.  Also seems DAL is a potential target for Randle.

    Would they still want Faried?

There was a Q and A done by The Athletic with Trae.  When asked what he wants to accomplish, his first response was "Win multiple championships."

Comparatively, when DeAndre Ayton was asked what he would consider to be a success in the NBA, his response was "Getting to my second contract."

That's what scared me when I listened to Ayton speak pre-draft.  Rarely talks about winning.  I know you're not into downing other picks to prop up ours so I don't want to upset your delicate sensibilities, but that's still a weird response.  I mean, just give people what they want to hear from a top pick.  Clearly Rayford was paying attention to that lecture.

It's unrealistic but I still like the 'multiple rangs' talk.  Heyul, if you're scared to even talk about it, you'll certainly never actually do it.  Gotta start somewhere.

Just to note, the Hawks are not tendering an offer to Josh Magette for the two way contract.  Jaylen Adams has taken his spot.  Jaylen Adams may actually have a future on this team as well.  Very good shooter!

Wait, did we not tender an offer or did we realize Buttz was gonna take him anyway and we were powerless to stop it?
