Admin
In reply to:Hotlantadude198 If anybody needs to be traded it's Shareef.20/7 that he is giving is simply not enough. He should be producing 26PPG 11RPG 3APG and actually helping fill the arena and he doesn't do any of that...yet is a top paid player in the league. He can't even draw any fans to the arena. I cant figure which pisses me off worse, the media guy that doesnt know a [censored] thing about the Hawks, or the supposed fan who is dissing the closest thing to a superstar the Hawks have. Guest
Well it might make u mad....but it's also the truth. I don't like it either....But I'm not going to fool myself.
Admin
The guy averages close to 20/10 with Robinson, Terry, and Ratliff.....its not like he is the only good player on a bad team and thats why his numbers are high. He has averaged this for his entire career, what else does he need to do? Basically you have hated on him since day one so its obvious that the only reason for this opinion is your bias and not anything factual. However I am not going to get into this again or you might start claiming that A. Walker is better than Reef again.
Guest
1)20/7 not 20/10 2)If he's so great why doesn't anybody care to come to the games? What more does he need to do? 25PPG 11RPG 3APG The fanless arena is very frustrating and it would be cool to have a player that could actually put us over the top. I like Shareef. He's a top 4 PF in the east, but it would be cool to have a player that could more put us over the top and make us a legit championship type of team. Admin
Reef is averaging 21.3 ppg 7.5 rpg ---------------------------------------------------- How about the great Chris Webber averaging 22.3 ppg 9.6 rpg ----------------------------------------------------- or how about the great Antoine Walker averaging 20.7 ppg 7.8 rpg See much of a difference? I sure as [censored] dont. Also,is either of them doing it with 2 more 20ppg scorers on the team?
Gray Mule
Ask new Falcon's owner how it's done. Sell tickets cheap enough so that the not so rich can afford to attend -- Make it an expereince to come to the game -- Keep winning -- That will draw fans and create interest. Hawks have been down for so long, building a fan base will take time -- only the hard-core fan cares what happens to a team when they have been down for so long. The more Hawks win, the more fans will show up. We know that our opponents have had more fans in the stands than the Hawks did on many occasions. Do you think the Falcons would be doing this well in attendance if they were loosing? No! But they would be doing better than before because of what the new owner has done. Hawks can and should do the same thing. Really cheap tickets will help fill the stands. So will winning.
Guest
I never said Walker is better than Shareef.I said Paul Pierce was and he is.Webber is more talented than Shareef....better passer, rebounder, defender, and scorer.Neither are good in the clutch so that is a even break. Also you aren;t factoring in assist and such.
cyman3
we should trade ABDUR-RAHIM for vince carter.... trade JASON TERRY for jason williams (memphis)..... then the FANS WILL COME, but will the hawks be winning??? wat do u want more? HAWKS WINNING or FAN APPRECIATION?
Guest
Well if we don't draw fans the team will not be here long.Winning teams with 6,000 fans will not last.
Traceman
he is earning every penny of his salary. He was injured at the beginning of the season but he is KILLING people as of late. He is putting up TREMENDOUS numbers on a team with 2 other guys averaging around 20 ppg. 25, 11 and 3? Please! Shaq and Duncan are the only guys putting up numbers like that. Guys who can do that do not grow on trees. In addition, you said: "1)20/7 not 20/10 2)If he's so great why doesn't anybody care to come to the games? What more does he need to do? 25PPG 11RPG 3APG " Based on that theory, I guess Jason Kidd needs to be traded immediately because despite the fact that he is the best PG in the NBA and despite the fact that he led his team to the Finals, the Nets STILL are the 4th worst team in the NBA in attendance. They run, they dunk, they are exciting and they win and they STILL can't get a decent crowd. The point is that its not about Reef, its about the fans. If they want to come out and support the team they will. Look at San Antonio and Utah. Are those teams exciting? I don't think so but they pack the house every night because their fans want to supoort them. Think about it, Nique was one of the most exciting players in the HISTORY of the NBA but the Omni was empty a lot more than it was full over the course of his career. The Hawks were pretty good during that time too. The fans of Atlanta are bandwagon fans as a group, particularly when it comes to basketball. If the Hawks win, I think the fans will come. Guest
also, Reef's doing that with a .535 fg% and .545 3p%. Last night he got his 27 in three quarters of work. Against LA he had 20 at the half (26 total), and a similar output against Charlotte. Combine that with the Hawks being the only team in the NBA with three guys averaging 20 ppg (though Terry has fallen to 19.7 of something).
