Their japanese launch doesn't seem to be going as hoped. They are selling less than 1 game per console sold. It was something like 5000 fewer games sold than consoles. That can't be good, since games is where they make their money. It looks like I'm not the only one who doesn't see anything great in their launch lineup.

"These numbers keep on getting lower and lower. Next-Gen is now reporting that the PS3 US launch could be as low as 150k units. That's a little lower than Sony's 400,000 figure."

its to bloody expensive. 600 is way too much for a video game console.

Microsoft was smart to get out the door earlier. Although the 360 is pretty expensive too.

Nintendo looks interesting with their new inovation with their controllers...not to mention the fact that it is 350 dollars cheaper then PS3.

i've got 7 so far, but i'm selling them

150k launch units is my wet dream...lots of people who pre-sold on ebay won't get their reserved ones (gamestop/eb didn't get enough to fill their orders) and so there will be lots of buyers and about 75-100k less sellers... = more profit!

I can't get really excited about any of the launch titles for either console, with the obvious exception of the new Zelda game.

It' too expensive right now, i may get it if the price goes down to at least 300-400.

Just curious, but how do you have 7 already?

I was contemplating doing this myself, but at the price point I was worried that I couldn't sell them all (was planning on getting the full blown version w/ all release games). Then looking at eBay there were bids past $1500 a week before the release.

I'll end up with a PS3 eventually; I need to get a nice 1080p HDTV first. I'm gonna pick up a Wii instead and have fun slinging that controller around.

One thing to note regarding the money made up through software and peripheral sales - Sony reported that they will lose around $300 per PS3 sold.

I did not buy a 360 and I'm glad I didn't with all that "3 red lights of death" business. I'll wait until next spring to get a PS3 so hopefully its "3 red lights" can be deal with before I have to trouble with it.

that wasn't a common problem and is even less so now.

I tend to wait close to a year until I pony up for a new system, myself. I might even do the same thing with the Wii, although I'm a little more confident that Nintendo won't have the same bugginess that Sony/Microsoft typically have (GC didn't have any that come to mind).
