KB21
....over his anti-young player persona: http://waymoresports.thestar.com/NASApp/cs...epath=Home/Home Duh! The Hawks could have told the Raptors that Lenny absolutely refuses to play young players. Lenny has always been about Lenny.
Gray Mule
What's this? Lenny doesn't want to use his bench? He only wants to use his veteran players? He is not going to work to improve the team for the future, and only wories about the next game? Young players don't get into games because the veteran players look better in practice? Wow! Who would have thought that Lenny would be like this? { Just all the Hawk fans who followed his career while he was the coach in Atlanta.} All coaches have their own personal style. They always do certain things a certain way, no matter where they are coaching. This is just what Lenny does. It is his way of doing things. As a coach, he has won many games by doing things this way and he is too old to change now. My only thought on this is, "Why are they suprised? Did they expect him to change? He will not change. They should have known that. We all did." We've already "Been there, Done that."
Premium Member Diesel Posted March 5, 2003 Premium Member Report Share Posted March 5, 2003 What's different between the way Lenny runs his team and the way Phil Jackson runs his? Nothing. The difference is winning. Right now, Toronto is picking up a few wins. However, if Toronto were in the same position as the Lakers, nobody would question Lenny methods. Similar to Phil Jacksons. Ask Kareem Rush how much he gets to play? As far as the trial on Young players... Don't forget Mo. Pete and Alvin WIlliams. These guys were young players who got a lot of minutes under Lenny. I would even say, they got more minutes under Lenny as Rookies than DJ got here as a rookie.
