A little snippet from TSN's Inside Dish

This comes from Sean Deveany's Inside Dish at TSN.

"The Hawks have not been great since they dumped coach Lon Kruger and put Terry Stotts in as interim coach, but they have been tougher and more resilient. Stotts can't do anything about the glaring mistakes in the construction of the roster, but he has the players on his side and has led them to some surprising wins. Word in Atlanta is that GM Pete Babcock would like to keep Stotts aboard, but the question is whether Babcock still has real power in the organization. ."

Even more that suggests Pete is a goner after the season.

I'm starting to go back to my initial feelings when the Hawks hired Billy Knight last summer. Just as I thought they hired Stotts to eventually replace Kruger, I think Knight was brought on to replace Pete if things didn't go well. Well, they haven't gone well.

But, I feel that even if Knight takes over, there is a good chance that Stotts will remain the head coach. I think Terry Stotts has to be considered the top candidate right now, as I don't think the Hawks will look to spend big on a coach this summer.
