Can the NBA force AOL's hand?

Does the NBA have sort of power where they can enforce a timelimit of some sort for an owner to go into negotations with a potential buyer before an agreement must be made?

I'm grasping at straws now but he.ll, i'm getting sick of waiting...da.mn AOL is trying to continue to [censored] us...

They're doing it with the Braves as well...Gary Sheffield is having an MVP season and would probably sign (relatively)cheaply to return to Atlanta, but thanks to AOL...

I still can't believe that AOL outsurvived its competitors like CompuServe and Prodigy...

Just think how Time Warner's shareholders must feel after the value of AOL's shares went south between the time the deal was announced and the time it closed.
