Caron Butler injury

He's suffered from this strained left hip flexor a few times, most noticeably last night.

Anyone think he'll sit out the ALl-Star game and let our boy Smoove in? Ha

1. Butler sits out allstar game so Smith can go.

2. Butler misses some time so the Hawks can make up ground and pass the Wizards for 6th in the East. The 6th place team gets to dodge Boston and Detroit in the 1st round.

JJ may sit out the allstar- game. If so, how fitting would it be for another Hawk to replace him ?

I like your latter suggestion. JJ has no business playing in the allstar game given his recent play and health. It would do the franchise good, as well as Smoove, to get him in. I doubt that happens though.

I don't wanna be negative, but i think the nba would add Turkoglu to the allstar team before Smith.

He's had a nice season and has been very clutch for the magic.Also the Magic having a winning record gives him an advantage.

Turk is deserving but I think Caldaron should be the one who gets the nod. He has been awesome this year.

Allen and Carter would not deserve it, IMO. Calderon deserves to be in there and Turkoglu has a comparable case to Smith factoring in the team success.

Richard Jefferson would seem like the natural choice to fill in for Caron... They are the same type of player and Richard Jefferson is having the best year of his life.

than all 4 of those guys' stats. Smoove is 23rd overall and 6th in the EC in efficiency rating. Conversely, the highest guy between the 4 you mention is Turkoglu at 36. Carter is 39, Calderon is 41, Jefferson is 52 and Allen is 76.

All that said, JJ is only 62 and Rip Hamilton is only 61 so maybe a couple of the other guys should have made it before JJ and Rip.
