Losing City.

That was my thought today. I was listening to the history of the Braves on the radio...

They started talking about the Glory years.

The Braves won what 14 straight "pennants"

1 championship.

Then i thought even farther.

That's the only championship we have as a city.

Then I thought even farther...

Of all the city/states with a Basketball, Football, and Baseball team...

We're the worst when it comes to # of Championships.

Correct me if I'm wrong...

But every other team that meets those conditions have more Championships than us.

The only bright spot was when I thought about San Diego.

But the Clippers moved to LA a long time ago.

Can anybody think of a city/state with a Basketball/Baseball/Football team with less championships than Atlanta.

Are we the losingest city?

Cleveland has no titles since the Hawks,Braves,and Falcons came to ATL.

Yeah it's a weird comparison with teams moving, being added etc... I mean the thrashers have not been around long. I would bet that there are a number of 1 title cities. What does charlotte have, 1 nhl title?

No chips for CLE in many years. I just read an SI article the other day about this. In fact, the Kenny Lofton team was the one the Braves actually beat for the title.

I laugh whenever I think of the Bay Area (home for me) since I was born. Let's see:

49ers-5 championships

Raiders-2 championships (I don't count the LA one)

Warriors-1 championship

SF Giants-0

Oakland A's-4 championships

Sharks-0

Heck even if I choose one side of the Bay it's pretty ridiculous.

East Bay: 7 Championships

West Bay: 5 Championships

Yeah, the city of Atlanta is pretty sad overall.

actually the carolina hurricanes are in raleigh so charlotte has none.

I would start by saying...

It must be Boston.

Reds/Pats/Celts.....

But there's LA...

Lakers/Dodgers/Rams/Raiders

There's also NY...

Knicks/Yankees/Giants/Jets/Mets

Chicago...

Bulls/Bears/White Sox/Cubs

NY will win by a landslide just because of the Yankees. 26 world series championships is probably more than any city in all sports combined.
