Rasheed Wallace May Retire

The local Detroit NBC affiliate has reported that Rasheed Wallace has announced he will retire.

Eh, he deteriorated pretty badly the past couple of years... I'd always thought he was overrated to begin with.

I did like the one game he played with us. He really competed and I think later on that year he had an interview where he said something to the effect of "If I stayed with the Hawks for the rest of the year we would have made some noise in the playoffs." Seems like he peaked competitively that year and each subsequent year he became less competitive.

He could probably play another 3 years as a bench player for the Spurs and get some more rings. He'd have to take a pay cut though.

I liked Sheed. . . he WAS an outstanding, aggressive player that would bring heart out of his team. . . . he WAS that guy. It's crazy seeing how the NBA has been making the transition to a newer younger generation. Or maybe I'm just getting old. . .

Sad if it's true I would of loved to see us make a run at him next year but he's a family man with a lot of young kids so I can understand him not wanting to move again and spend more time with them.
