Spend the Hawks money

We currently have $44M committed to 6 players next year (Horford, JJ, Crawford, Morris, Evans, Smoove). Talk about a fluid situation!! We have to sign at least 13 players, to my understanding of the CBA.

Last year, we spent about $67M on our roster. I think it's safe to assume that's our minimum for 2009. Luxury tax will probably be around $71M again. So we have $23 - $27M left to fill 7 roster spots. I'm not sure if we're actually under the salary cap or not (due to cap holds), but I think not. So you probably have to assume any outside free agents you bring in fit within the MLE of $5.6M.

Don't forget the #19 and 2nd round draft spots (if you actually believe we'll be keeping them).

How do you complete the team??

2. Sign Zaza 4 year 18.5 million (that's 4 Million)

3. Sign Flip 3 years 9.1 Million (2.75 Million)

4. Trade Marvin/Mo for Hinrich. 5 years 41.5 million (that's 7.355)

5. Sign Chillz and Morris for Camby 5 yrs 34.795 (that 6.1 Million to start)

6. Sign the pick (1.1 Million to start).

7. Sign 2nd rounder (0.7 Million to start).

8. Sign Othello Harrington (0.7 million to start 2 year).

The two picks become interesting. We should get a PG and a Sf.

I'm thinking Maynor/Cunningham.

Not bad, but those are some long contracts for Camby and Hinrich. I guess the only player who will get a big raise during that time is Horford, and Crawford's contract will be up then.

I would start Joe at SG, Smith at SF, Horford at PF and Camby at C though, I think.

No, those were the signed contracts of Marvin and CHillz. We take on Camby's ending contract and Hinrich's 2 years(??). It's very sound.

Oh, for some reason I thought those were the contracts of the players we were trading for.

Heinrich has 3 years at about 9million each.

Camby has 1 year at 7.65 million.

You can't do that with Chillz because he'd be BYC and you couldn't do the Marvin trade either since I think the Bulls are over the cap and Marvin would also be BYC.
