Big-Ben anyone?!

I think people expect to get starter quality players coming off the bench, but it's not going to happen. Ben Wallace would be a great addition to our frontcourt, especially since we could use the toughness he brings. All we need him to do is rebound and block shots, and he was decent at that with Cleveland last year.

Agreed !

He is the type of veteran we would hope ot have as the 9th or 10th man.

Lets make it clear, unless we trade Joe, Josh or Horf we are never going to answer our big man problem. If we are looking for an NBA capable 7footer on the cheap that only comes off the bench to D up larger lineups and not be a liability at the other end of the floor then Rasho is your man. He won't wow you on the offensive end but he is a capable scorer and is an even better passer. We are not going to find the next Shaq bagging groceries at your local supermarket so you need to lower your expectations and make do with what is out there.

And there's better out there than RASHO!!!!! Like I said I'll take him if we don't get anything else but I'm just not overjoyed with the thought of RASHO!!!!! Wilcox is a much better option than rasho and I'm just staying optimistic until the cup is completely empty. Rasho does give us a big body but he's not the big body on the top of MY list, is it ok for me to have an opinion on the big that I think we should have sir?

yes rasho has a ring but how much did he really contribute in the winning of that ring? He does have the ability to hit the 15 footer and that really shocked me when i saw that this year but I'm still not buying him as the answer to our big problem. Id take him over Ben but I wouldn't take either if i had the choice!

I'm sorry if it looked like I was getting my diesel on but I was responding to that particular line in your post. I interpreted it as though you felt there were available options that would solve the need that we've had for years of a tall, talented center that can score in the post, rebound and block shots rather than picking up an end of the bench "specialist". Seeing as this thread is in regard to Ben Wallace, a center, I felt Rasho was much a better option at center to help us fight larger lineups rather than the much smaller and older Wallace who relied on his athleticism in his prime to even allow him to play center. If we wan't to discuss PFs that actually play PF but can play some C then yes Wilcox is a good option but even then I would argue that Drew Gooden is a far superior choice to him.

I agree, I said in another post that ben never had any kind of skill set and he strictly played off of emotion and athleticism which he has neither of now! Rasho would be an upgrade over anything that we have on the roster now but I'm still hoping that we take a look at other options before we fo down that road! I agree that Gooden would be a better option than wilcox but I don't think drew is looking to come to atlanta. He just comes off as one of those players chasing a ring to me now, but if we could get him then I'm all for it!

talk about a bad FA signing by Chicago. Ben was done before he left the Pistons.
