Interesting: Word is The Raine Group, which is handling the sale of the Atlanta Thrashers for Atlanta Spirit LLC, is telling prospective buyers the team can be moved because having those dates available for other events (ie. concerts) is a better financial option than hockey.

The hockey team has been losing money and not sure they actually make enough money for Phillips Arena to cover the operating cost of the facility.

WSP probably will not be playing at Phillips too much any more. After 10 years of New Years Eve sellouts the fan based has aged and shrunk. They're tickets are pretty low in cost any way. I think Zach Brown was the NYE show last year with WSP playing the Fox in Denver.

Its the old guys like Elton John and Rod Stewart that bring in the big bucks to Phillips. I'm sure they are praying for a Rolling Stones reunion. The Circus makes some serious money for them too. They will do like 3 shows a day for 2 weeks straight when in Atlanta. They are selling 60,000 tickets a day for 14 days straight. That probably beats the attendance for the Thrashers.
