We could also throw in a first rounder and a second rounder.

Atlanta trades: PF Chris Crawford (7.6 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 0.7 apg in 18.7 minutes)

C Theo Ratliff (8.7 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 0.3 apg in 27.3 minutes)

PF Shareef Abdur-Rahim (21.3 ppg, 9.0 rpg, 3.1 apg in 38.7 minutes)

Atlanta receives: C Radoslav Nesterovic (8.4 ppg, 6.5 rpg, 0.9 apg in 27.1 minutes)

SF Kevin Garnett (21.2 ppg, 12.1 rpg, 5.2 apg in 39.2 minutes)

Change in team outlook: -8.0 ppg, +0.7 rpg, and +2.0 apg.

Minnesota trades: C Radoslav Nesterovic (8.4 ppg, 6.5 rpg, 0.9 apg in 27.1 minutes)

SF Kevin Garnett (21.2 ppg, 12.1 rpg, 5.2 apg in 39.2 minutes)

Minnesota receives: PF Chris Crawford (7.6 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 0.7 apg in 7 games)

C Theo Ratliff (8.7 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 0.3 apg in 3 games)

PF Shareef Abdur-Rahim (21.3 ppg, 9.0 rpg, 3.1 apg in 77 games)

Change in team outlook: +8.0 ppg, -0.7 rpg, and -2.0 apg.

TRADE ACCEPTED

Due to Atlanta and Minnesota being over the cap, the 15% trade rule is invoked. Atlanta and Minnesota had to be no more than 115% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

I know we are getting Garnett but I don't like the trade. The reason is that Garnett is coming up for contract renegotations and he is going to be wanting a big raise (30 mil a year). That is why the Wolves are shopping him. Take him on and you completely handcuff your team. You will not be able to sign anyone. SAR is not as good as the KG but he is comparable. Plus, what kind of success has the TWolves had with Garnett. I like having a healthy Theo and SAR more than taking on a future monster contract that no one can afford.

Radoslav Nesterovic is a decent center too. If it wasn't for the contract coming up I think it could be an interesting trade but with it coming up there is no way I would take him on.

Many times I have looked at a KG trade and finally, I had to ask the question is it worth it... Let me show you what I mean:

PF Shareef Abdur-Rahim (21.3 ppg, 9.0 rpg, 3.1 apg in 38.7 minutes)

SF Kevin Garnett (21.2 ppg, 12.1 rpg, 5.2 apg in 39.2 minutes)

I understand that KG is better than Shareef but How much better? 3 rebs and 2 assists?

Salary wise though..

Shareef = 11 million

KG = 20 million

Is KG still worth it? KG is coming up for a new contract. Fortunately for Minn, the reports are that KG has said he would take a cut in salary if they can get some players around him. Minn has been desperately trying to work out a deal with:

NY... Wally/Nestor for Spree.

and

Phoenix...

Brandon/Smith/Filler for Marbury/Googs.

I figure in the end, that would be a good team to watch:

Marbury/Spree/KG/Googs/Jackson.

But it won't help us much.. to get KG... He will eat up our money and we won't be able to put anybody next to him because of Luxury tax.

Well KG is more versitle(sp?)plays better defense and

he puts fans in the seat.Would I do it if he expected

a paying increase of 30 million?hell no!

Our core for the next several years would be KG/JT/DJ...

With the team we have right now,no player that is half

decent would want to sign with us not to mention to

play in front of a empty arena.

As far as if Shareef vs. KG......KG is better in things that

don't show up on stats.

As you laugh at my trade deal I remember one time you tried

to trade JT/Shareef for Tmac.

Tmac is worth JT/Shareef but KG/Rasho isn't worth Reef/Theo?

Is KG 11 million better than Shareef?based on talent vs. talent...NO

But you throw in the fact that fans might actually care about

the team then and the fact that we would finally get noticed

as a legit organazation....Yes he is 11 million better in that

regard.

KG can put fans in the seat and Shareef can't.It really isn't

Reef's fault that he doesn't get noticed....but that's just

the way the ole ball bounces.

KG could not propell a team consisting of himself, Marbury, and Googs past the first round... And that was when Marbury was less selfish and Googs was a better player.

I believe people will come out to see KG, but let's not trade talent for talent simply becuase of that. If so, let's go with a safer deal...

Theo/CC/Glover to Orlando for Hill/Hunter.

A lot safer.

Hill would pull just as many fans to the Phil as KG could.

Plus:

Nazr/SAR/Hill/DJ/JT

is a lot stronger team than:

Nazr/KG/Ira/DJ/JT.

Not if Hill is only a 15PPG player it isn't.No people would not come

out to see Hill anymore. He is not the same player he was and never

will be.Plus KG is about 5 years younger.

Yeah Penny was once a fan drawer.....but when the fans seen

he wans't the same player the Suns attendance isn't all the great

last time I checked.Nobody comes to see a less Penny and they

wouldn't stay to watch a less Grant Hill.

Oh and a 100% Grant Hill couldn't knock us out of the first round

and Reef doesn't have a playoff birth yet.

So talking about KG not getting out of the first round doesn't help

you're cause when neither Reef/Hill have done it.

Maybe getting KG isn't the greatest idea...but we would be better

than we are now and will be with our current team.

He would sap the life out of this team. Everyone treats him like he is teh golden boy of the nba. The fact is he is NOT a dominant player. 21ppg is NOT dominant. It is good, but it is far from elite. He does a lot though, I will give him that. He certainly is not worth Reef and a healthy Theo. He's the most overrated player in the game. Heck, the most overrated in the last 3 years.

you say nobody would want to sign with us with the team we have now. Well, look at minnesota. NOBODY wants to play with KG, NOBODY. He's a overbearing personality and that gets overlooked because of his mid-high talent level. I say mid-high as I have already stated he is NOT an elite player. They have a hard time signing mid-talent FA's and it's in large part due to KG's personality. They know that no matter how good they are, they are always going to have to defer to KG. Good he is, but not THAT good.

His personality and salary make him undesirable in my book. If his salary were in line with his production, I would jump on it. But otherwise no thanks.

He sure would bring in the tickets sales. He also gets 12RPG(which

is among the best)and 5-6 assist. We might actually make the

playoffs with him=)

The only thing stopping me from wanting KG is his contract. There are very few players in this league I would take over KG. He is an excellent player in this league all ready and he is still young. His potential isn't even close to maxed out. I think the PPG stat is weighted way to heavy in this league. Magic Johonson didn't average 30 ppg per game, but he is considered one of the greatest for a reason.

A guy that pulls down 12 rpg and dishes out 5-6 assist and blocks however many shot is not overated imo. Overpaid but not overated.
