Thoughts on the game

Al had a very solid game, he plays under control. But he can't be a legitimate no. 1 guy although he needs his fga higher.JT was spectacular in the 1st half. Best player on the floor during that span.Morrow was crazy efficient. Best defense I've seen him play even during college.Lou fg % was shot but he made shots when the score was tight in other words clutch makes. Only pure scorer on the team. Needs to pass it just a smidgen more but let it pass if ft attempts are around 10.KK sucked more than the box score indicated.Zaza provided good play overall.Ivan was strong. He needs his minutes around 20 a game.

My thoughts on the game:

[*]Horford stepped strong in Josh's absence. I absolutely love the heart and grit Horf plays with. 23 pts, 12 rebs.

[*]Deshawn is going to be big for us and it seems the team has already taken a liking to him. Big time for 3 and defending guys.

[*]Teague is coming into his own. Not a conventional PG, but can play the position. I love how every play he is looking to attack the hoop and doesn't settle for jump shots. 16 pts, 5 asts, 3 stls.

[*]Lou is a pure-scorer and is a clutch player. Made some free throws towards the end to put it out of reach. 19 pts, 4 asts, 2 stls.

[*]Korver plays hard on the defensive end and hustles. Usually is a great shooter, but looks to be off and not comfortable on the court with this team yet. We'll see if he slips out of this funk and start balling like we all know he is capable of. Maybe a future trade piece if he can't.

[*]A retired NBA player (his name slips me at the moment) once said that you can gain playing time in the NBA by just getting 6 in a given category (except TO's of course) and Zaza did just that vs. OKC - in three different categories. 6 pts, 6 rebs, 6 asts.

[*]Ivan has calmed down tremendously this season. He still seems to get under players skin, but is avoiding the confrontation that can hurt the team. Makes the most of every minute he is on the court. 10 pts, 4 rebs in only 12 minutes of play.

i thought Korver played some fairly decent D most of the time...and shooters like that arent always in rhythm immediately on a new team...Go Hawks!

Teague is providing 16 ppg, 6 apg, 2,5 spg in 7 mpg less than last year, 26 mpg. Somebody has to explain why this guy is not playing 35 mpg, I just cannot understand it, DeShawn Stevenson is playing more minutes than Teague!!! This is crazy, today he is the future of the franchise with Horford, has no sense.Everybody say Stevenson is playing great defense, well... In 2 games opposing SG are scoring 41 ppg on FG 75%, guys you have to revise what good defense means on your language, I don't get it. He provides on offense a whopping 10 ppg, I mean 10 ppg is really good for him, I just cannot remember when was the last time he scored 10 ppg, oh yeah, 6 seasons ago!!!. So basically we are giving 35 ppg at SG, I'm sure we can cut that handicap to 10 ppg if we start Morrow or Jenkins.Meanwhile Teague helped to limit Westbrook to 5-18 and nobody here gives him some credit about that.I agree that Ivan and Zaza provide toughess and rebounding to the team, they should play more.Korver is a liability either on offense and defense, I think we have no chance than to start Smith at SF or make a big trade.We are the worst balanced team on the whole NBA, only 5 players are capable starters, 3 play PG and the other 2 PF, so basically we have a BIG hole at SG, SF and C that we try to fill with some role players that could not play more than 15 mpg on any NBA team, even the Nets... Some moves have to happen.

I loved the effort in this game. All of the offensive rebounds we were getting do not need to be forgotten. That is essentially why we won. I for one am hoping Josh can not go on Wednesday to see if this was a 1 time fluke, or if we can keep up this hustle without him.

I am not trying to give praise to Stevenson for his Defense because I think he has really lost a step or two and his shot selection is atrocious but he was guarding Durant not the opposing team's shooting guard. Martin was torching Lou and Korver.

I like how our team is leading in steals. I hope this can last throughout the season. We do cause a lot of teams to turnover the ball, which leads to quick and easy points. Guess having a lot of guards can help after all.

Wesley Matthews limited Harden to 8-24 the game after, and he is not a defensive specialist. Opposing SG are going to have a party against us, Kevin Martin is nothing special and hit 28 pts. When you don't have to defend the oponent SG you are more fresh to attack on the following possession.

Yeah Kevin Martin has been a scoring machine his entire career. I compare him to Reggie Miller. Its just he has played for bad teams being the kings and rockets so some people havent seen him play much.
