I don't think it would make much sense to ship Smoove out "IF" Ferry can actually land Dwight before the deadline. If we are trying to retain him past this season, but we will be able to throw the most money at him in that scenario so you never know. This is all assuming Dwight is actually available. Wouldn't it be something though if we traded Smoove and got some nice pieces, then we also traded for Dwight... That would be crazy.

It'd be stupid to trade Smith and then go after Dwight. Dwight didn't stay in Orlando because he didn't feel he could win there anymore. If he looks around the Hawks locker room and all he sees is Teague, Korver, Morrow, Lou in a wheelchair, and then 11 other scrubs, do you really think that he is going to be interested in coming back? In order to get and retain Dwight, he needs to feel this is a great opportunity to win. We need Horford and Smith to do that. It's either Dwight/Josh/Horford/Teague, build around Josh/Horford/Teague or just build around Horford/Teague at this point. There is no Dwight w/o Josh and/or Horford.

You're forgetting Al Horford and the nearly max salary slot we'd still have to also put someone else on that roster.

I think Dwight is dangerously close to being "injury prone". His best years are probably behind him. Do we really want to count on this guy and expect him to take us to the finals at this point?

This whole thing is a mess that is going to blow up in the face of Ferry. Dwight is constantly injured and or complaining. Josh is constantly doing head-scratching things on the court. I don't see those two on the same team as a good thing. Ferry is playing himself but the fans will buy into this and think something good will come out of it.

would a team with smith, horford, and howard work? I think that horford is great, and might be able to work something out. smith is a talented retard, he has to be surrounded by the right people.
