More ammo to feed the Josh haters apparently. You are wrong though. The rest of the league wasn't going to give up much to acquire two-three months of Josh Smith and have him test the free agent market.

Dude are you Billy Knight or something? Only that will explain the amount of hate you have for this man. Give it up dude. He hasn't even been here a year. In two years, if we still suck rip away. Until then... well... I don't think I can post that.

That's why I said "last offseason". It was pretty obvious no decent trade proposals would be made at the deadline.

Quick question I don't believe has been brought up yet. Does anyone feel that this is a salry dump because the ASG is finally trying to sell the franchise??? I may be reaching but what are your thoughts?

Also he was extremely stubborn with the fact that he was only accepting expiring deals for Josh Smith... Hence the Milwaukee trade broke down.

I think it was more important to Ferry to have the capspace this offseason. If he took the deal Udrih was expiring, Boute and Udoh would be taking up a total of 8.9 million combined from this summers capsapce. I'm assuming Ferry's thinking is he can get a more impactful player for that 8.9mil this summer.

Why give up Josh and lose 9 million of your space this summer.

Ding, ding, ding...a prize for plskeepbibby for his phenomenal grasp of the obvious Posted Image .

In truth though - the ASG has been trying to sell for awhile...probably before when the deal fell through with the pizza/casino guy who wanted to take the team to Las Vegas. ...and who knows...if DF can maximize cap space maybe quality ownership will be more interested.

In the meantime at least we get to watch our core players for the rest of the season and into the playoffs. Smoove will have to bring effort most of the time since he's playing for his next contract too.

Personally I just hope we buy out the guy we got back for Morrow as from what I've read on other sites he has a worse than bad attitude (albeit an expiring contract).

Exactly...Ferry got us Flexibility now lets wait until he has been on the job for a year first.....

When I saw who made this thread I knew what he was about to say before I even opened it

It's simple. No one is going to give up valuable asseets for 30 games of Josh Smith with the HIGH possibility he walks. Josh only wants the max from the Hawks or any other undesirable team in my opinion. He will take less for The Rockets, Bulls, Nets, Celtics, Knicks or Mavericks. My prediction is he go to the Rockets. Perfect spot for his skillset.

I heard Ferry rejected a JJ Hickson or Amare deal when he was in Cleveland. Not surprised.
