I've spent too much time giggling at my dear cousin Bobnet/Horcats to assume we can ever lose enough to guarantee a top-billing player comes to The Factory in 2K14. How often has the WORST team gotten the top pick lately? We can still be entertaining and win just infrequently enough to be in the running for good fortune in June, if it comes to that. Or heck, swap Horf and whatever for one of those picks once the lotto positions are set in stone.

Stink up the joint, run the remaining 4,000 season ticket holders out the building, and with one false bounce of the ping pong ball the ticket reps will be calling to convince me that locking in a season tix package is an imperative, because there's no telling how long they'll last because they've just drafted Mario Hezonja...

Side question: How much did Anthony Davis boost New Orleans attendance last year? Is it reasonable to suspect that Add-Wiggins-and-Stir will be the panacea for playoff success and packed houses in 2K15?

Especially when there was a bag with Korver in it somewhere in Brooklyn..

Ok - that right there - Instant Classic - left me giggling like a schoolgirl!

Sweet, Batum can create his own miss. Oh but wait, he's gotten progressively worse over the past 4 years. Oh but wait, he's getting paid $10 million. Let's sign up for that!

Lets sign Korver to 6 mil per season and was shut down and really helped us in playoffs

2 for 7 ....5pts

3 for 10 ....9 pts

2 for 5 ...6 pts

3 for 11 ...12 pts

2 for 5 ...10 pts

and 1 good game Korver 7 for 11 and 5 for 9 from 3

followed by a 0 for 7 from 3 pt in game 6

Who is this Batum guy anyway?

I guess I need to keep up more...is he somebody who is just under rated and ready to explode onto the scene as a star?

He is step below Paul George ...

Take a gander at the TS% leaders last season, and tell me 6mil isn't worth it.

Yeah but did he create his own makes? Or did he rely on an NBA style offense that utilizes ball movement and picks to get him open to make those shots? See, I don't mind that nearly as impressive as an AAU style of player who can easily create his own misses and low true shooting percentage.

KK should feel honored that his thread is flirting with 20 pages. lol Free agency excitement has shook a few wildlings from the forest. If we sign Dwight, we'll need to brace for a full on onslaught and are going to need to separate threads to keep up with the traffic. Hawksquawk regulars - beware, winter is coming. lol

Not much of a value signing imo, but not against it. Even if we tank we need to use alot of our salary cap guys, forgot the percentage.

And you cant compare Batum's contract coming off a rookie deal with korvers; thats like comparing our great deal with horford to veteran PF/C contracts....to get horford or batum, you would need more than their salaries to pry them from the teams.

Man...did this come out of nowhere or what? This signing is great for us because it proves that our team is not gonna tank. However I still have this empty feeling...Korver is good but he would only come back if he was sold on us being serious contenders, in fact out of all the one-year-rental players we acquired from last year I expected him to be the first to leave. Something has to be going on in the Hawks camp we don't know about.

I'm not going to say Korver was great in the playoffs. He missed a lot of shots he should have made. His impact on the game goes beyond shots made though. I bet some of his missed threes became second chance opportunities for somebody because he had somebodies defender put a hand up. And his movement creates shots for other players. He is always accounted for..even when he struggles. Also, Batum is many many steps below Paul George.

yep and that is what happens in playoffs when a player can't create his own shoot and defense tighten Korver struggled So now you have a player on that needs pick and screens to get space instead of creating own shot or driving to basket and creating for others. Korver would be a great role player on a championship team similar how to Ray Allen filled role with Heat Not @ 6 mil per season to a team that will be a first round exit / boderline playoff team when lose Josh

George is not a great shooter so all the other stuff like defense , rebound and create his own shot don't matter here lol

Danny Green can't create his own shot and did pretty well in the playoffs. Same for Mike Miller and Shane Battier. Hell I could name you a dozen guys in the past 10 years in the finals alone who've done pretty damn well being guys who can't create their own shot but really excel at knocking down the 3.

Hopefully the Hawks and Korver have a press conference within the next few days. I would love to hear about how DF and gang sold him on coming back.

and Danny Green and Mike Miller struggled big time to Those again are championship teams I have nothing against Korver . I do with plan and direction of team unless Howard signs Hawks are not a chil team that can use a 3 pt specialist why pay Korver 6 mil ?

Danny Green pretty much won 2 games for the Spurs in the finals. Mike Miller may have won the Heat at least 1 game. You're not making much sense here.
