Estudiantes played vs Barcelona. I watched just the end of that game but didn't pay attention a lot since it was clearly won by Barcelona.

If all the stuff about Asik are right, maybe they were also paying attention to Papanikolaou. Houston has his rights and is a good player, a Demarre Carroll type of player...

Maybe they would have liked to watch Hezonja play (great prospect for the 2015 draft), but he didn't...

Please there are facts that show that foreign players are not living up to there hype in the league.

And all of the Americans in the league are living up to their hype, right?

A more accurate comment would be "Most players don't live up to their hype."

What's the draft position of each of these players?

I would bet you there's a higher percentage among these guys who are actually contributing on NBA teams than a list of the domestic players drafted over the same time period.

And I don't know about you but I am betting OKC wishes they had Ibaka back right about now, the guy who's led the NBA in blocks the past 3 years. They've got Thabo playing important minutes for them and he's been a very solid player in the league. Bellinelli has balled out for the Spurs this year.

Maybe no all stars but I sure as hell see some players that will fit on this team and be good.

The ONLY person on that list who had any kind of hype was Rubio!

There are a handful of guys on that list that are starters or atleast playing big minutes for really good teams. Bad idea to use Nic Batum, Thabo, and Ibaka as reasons why foreigners don't do well in the NBA. Almost like the list was compiled to prove the opposite point.

Here is my view:

Evan Fournier - solid

Jonas Valanciunas - hit

Jan Vesely - bust

Bismack Biyombo - bust

Donatas Motiejunas - eh

Nikola Mirotic - solid (hasn't come over yet, seems to be developing quite well in Euroleague)

Kevin Seraphin - eh

Ricky Rubio - hit

Victor Claver - bust

Omri Casspi - decent

Rodrigue Beaubois - decent

Christian Eyenga - 30th pick - miss

Danilo Gallinari - hit

Alexis Ajinca - 20th pick - bust

Serge Ibaka - hit

Nicolas Batum - hit

Yi Jianlian - bust

Marco Belinelli - hit

Rudy Fernandez - hit

Andrea Bargnani - bust

Mouhamed Sene - bust

Thabo Sefolosha - hit

Oleksiy Pecherov - 18th pick - bust

Sergio Rodriguez - 27th pick - solid

Joel Freeland - 30th pick - eh

Started doing the picks and then stopped. There haven't been any home runs with this bunch but a majority are doing what you would expect at their draft slot or better.

Bust = Bust

Eh = Not as good as you'd want but not a complete bust

Solid = OK - not great but not that bad for the draft slot

Hit = Good pick. Team doesn't second guess this pick.

Since 2006 there have been 182 College players drafted in the first round. 21 have already made atleast one all-star appearance. That is 8.7% of those drafted.

With all-star appearance as the criteria college basketball players are 8.7% more successful than foreigners.

I argue that a college basketball player is atleast 8.7% more likely to be an elite performer in the NBA than a foreigner.

Drafts are all about potential. This is just another way that foreign potential is overrated compared to college potential.

I would still like to see it controlled for draft slot. Most of the players you listed were picked 20 or higher. I am willing to bet that most of the college players who made All-Star teams were picked in the lottery (perhaps a high % in the top 5 or top 10, etc.) and very few, if any, were picked in that range.

Ibaka, Valanciunas, and Batum could easily make one or more All-Star games before they are done.

Bargnani and Yi stand out as the worst busts.
