I wanna change McDermott with Napier at 12.

Napier is a mesh of CP3, Tony Parker is what scouts say. I agree and will add Stephon Marbury. Small in stature but plays HUGE. Bud would love him. He's a playmaker for sure.

Are you taking McDermott of your list or are you just exchanging Napier for McDermott at 12 and moving everyone down one spot?

Pretty sure he wants you to rank your personal top 20.

Here is mine:

1. Parker - Will be the best rookie in year #1. Love his IQ. I'll take his IQ over Wiggin's athletic ability.

2. Embiid - Would be #1 without the back and foot issues.

3. Wiggins - As physically gifted as Vince Carter or Dominique Wilkins. Will he reach potential ?

4. Smart - Baller.......body of a LB but with elite hops. Is he a more athletic Chauncey Billups ?

5. Exum- know nothing about him...........going off hear-say

5. Vonleh - Great length. Can protect the rim and hit the mid range jumper. Complete game.

6. Randle - The next Zach Randolph ?

7. Gordon - Tons of room for growth, More upside then PF in the draft. Could play some SF.

8. Payne - Perfect fit for our system.

9. Warren - I think he could role out of bed and average 12 - 14 ppg as a rookie.

10. McDermott - SHOOTER in the house with some size !

11. Stauskus - SHOOTER in the house with good size for a SG !

12. Ennis - Pure PG with a killer perimeter shot.

13. Young - A lot of upside.

14. McDaniels - Elite defensive potential. Great athlete.

15. Capela - elite rim protector potential. Big men come at a premium.

16. Saric - Elite skill level, short arms, improving jumper. Interesting transition.

17. Anderson - Elite skill level, with great measureables, but with little athletic ability. His transition will be interesting.

18. McGary - too much skill to leave off even if he likes to toke some Mary Jane

19. Hood - safe role player...wish I could see him play some defense so he could be a 3 & D possibility but don't see the defense.

20. Grant - big potential. Wingspan and length of a Center in the body of a SF.

I'd have to put Lavine in there some where for his upside.

Real Quick I'll go With:

1. Wiggins

2. Exum

3. Vonleh

4. Parker

5. Smart

6. Embiid <-- Although I don't think anyone with only 1 pick should draft this guy. makes sense for phily/orl, etc

7. Randle

8. Gordon

9. Stauskas

10. Hood

11. Saric <-- Though I'd only draft him if we got a 2nd pick. Hate the two years thing.

12. Young

13. Lavine

14. Payne

15. Harris

16. McDermott

17. Payton <-- The high riser I haven't done enough research on yet.

18. Nurkic

19. Ennis

20. Anderson

For the Hawks? This isn't my top 20 best players, then, it's the 20 I want us to add to our team based on fit+talent relative to the players we already have for their position. For example, I think Randle will be a fine NBA player, better than James Young probably, but he won't be any better than Millsap or Horford (ever, IMO), so he's not on this list. Embiid's talent level makes him high on the list, though. Some will disagree with these, but this is my opinion, I don't put a ton of stock into the mock drafts posted by dudes like Chad Ford.

1. Parker - 3/4

2. Embiid - 5

3. Smart - 1/2

4. Exum - 2

5. Saric - 3/4

6. Wiggins - 2/3

7. Vonleh - 4/5

8. McDermott - 3

9. Gordon - 3/4

10. Stauskas - 2

11. Lavine - 2

12. Anderson - 3/4

13. Nurkic - 5

14. Inglis - 3

15. Young - 2/3

16. Payton - 1

17. Early - 3/4

18. Hood - 3

19. Warren - 3

20. Bogdanovic - 2

  • 1 year later...

This is a look back at the 2014 draft class.  It was highly touted as 'one of the best draft classe'

With year#2 in the books, what are your thoughts. Exceeds expectations, below expectations, etc.

I'd say not as great as advertised but definitely solid.
