We just need another backup center other than Pero....

Let's be honest Pero really wasn't brought in to play starter minutes last year, it just happened to happen due to injuries.

Let's be honest he didn't do that bad at the 3ball last year, after all he was on the team to be a 3rd string center like you said.

Let's be honest he really can improve...not to anything major but it's very possible for him to shoot the 3ball better next season.

Let's be honest why does his defense have to be superb? How many scoring centers you know are actual scoring threats in the post?....let's be honest it's only 5-7 in the nba today...let's be honest centers are used to protect the rim against slashers more so than against other true centers...let's be honest who worries about a 3rd string center having top notch defense?

The issue is Pero was NOT the 3rd string center last year was he? He started most games and was the primary backup C the whole season after Horford went down. You don't thing Centers need to rebound and play defense? Do you think Centers should just shoot 3s? You make no sense. Bottom line is Pero should be an end of the bench player at best.

Go check the playoff numbers from for this rookie of the year contender.

Pero will be right back out of the NBA when the Hawks let him go.

Come on. The guy had a terrible playoff series. If we're being honest he should have been benched, but we didn't exactly have the luxury of doing that. When Brand and Antić are your only healthy "centers" your team has a problem.

He still produced more than Pero.

People will go to any lengths to defend any bum that plays on this team.

Pero makes like what? 1/12th what Hibbert does?

I never thought I'd see anyone defend Hibberts play against us. Kudos...

No it's called a "we lost our first and second string centers to season ending injuries" problem.

Wrong.........he had a exception to pick up a player to replace them and did not do it.

Ok blind man....Pero was signed to be a Matt bonner type player not full time backup for al horford. Brand was signed to receive full backup minutes at center but because horford got hurt Pero got threw in to the wolves and here you are mad that a 3rd string center didn't play well in the playoffs who had no choice but to start and you say I don't make sense?!!!!

Look in mirror kid!....Neva mind forgot you were blind but yet have wide open eyes to ignorance.

Come on man we are arguing about a 3rd string center that got put in a situation to be a full time center. How can we really be that mad as hawks fans?

Nobody is takin up for Pero but you can't expect starter quality production from a 3rd string center even if given the minutes!

A professional player should be able to perform better than he did. Nobody expects big production out of him.

The same Chris Kaman who played only 39 games on a team that at one point couldn't put another healthy player on the court once Robert Sacre fouled out.

No the same Kaman that was averaging 13/8 over a stretch of several games he played good minutes. We needed a body period and Ferry did nothing..FACT!

Again, he only played 39 games- not a solution. It's not like teams are handing out centers for cap space (it's funny because we just did).
