DrReality
The commish's support of Ferry was aimed at our asshole owner. Hope he feels it
Randy
I think Levenson had probably had enough of his fellow clownership members and maybe had just given up on this franchise anyway. The email he wrote indicates, if nothing else, his view that the franchise had little chance to turn a profit as things stood in 2012. We know that since then that hasn't changed. The team continues to be one of the poorest in attendance and one of the few that is now losing money after the new CBA. So I think, he figured he could cash in his chips, walk away with more than he put in and leave the game and the scrutiny that would have followed had decided to hang tough. He probably was as fed up with Gearon as anyone, and figured there was going to be a fight over Ferry and he didn't want to make it a fight over him as well. He may have even thought he was doing the noble thing by taking the fall for the franchise.
