This happened recently, believe it or not.

We all know that there is an independent league where players who have no ties

to any major league go and play, honing their skille, hoping someone will notice.

The Atlanta Braves sent one of their top scouts to watch one of these games and returned,

full of enthusiasm about what he had observed.

"You just have to get down there and sign this pitcher.  He's the greatest thing I ever saw!"

"What makes him so great?" ask the front office boss.

"Why, this young man threw nothing but strikes.  A perfect game, in fact.  They couldn't touch

his stuff.  One opponent hit a long foul ball and that was it.  Then he struck him out!"

The front office boss replied, "Never mind the pitcher.  We have young pitchers.  Grab the young

man who hit the foul.  We need hitting!"

Just checked the Braves score and they are up 2 to 0 in the 2nd.  What alternate universe did I wake up in this morning?

Did any one know, the Braves entire starting rotation, pitchers, are all in their 20's

with the elder of this staff being an old man of 25 !

Maybe I'm getting over the Braves betrayal.........nope.  I'm not.   Good luck to them though for the sake of the fans and players.

I'm pretty excited for their pitching.  They need to get the bats going.
