@AHF I'm agreeing with you too much today.

(Say something stupid, please. This is getting uncomfortable.)

I'd only add... it's a whole lot more dire to make a bad FA signing mistake in the NBA than MLB.

I'll compound our issue by agreeing.  Very important to make the right call with free agents and not sign up for some Evan Turner garbage contract.

Should we be concerned that ownership is beginning to pressure for accelerating the process?

(In hindsight, one could make the case that's also what happened with the Asterisks, after years of futility.)

Windy is repeating old news from around the time of the Drummond trade.

So, just for the heckuvit...

Imagine its July 2020, and you've just learned that Schlenk has an agreement with the agents for arguably the most statistically productive free agents on the 2020 free agent market...

And thus, the 2020 roster will feature the #1 pick in the draft (finally lifting the Skywalker curse), and yet another from our lucky #19 slot, but both as back-ups to a starting line-up consisting of

PG - Trae Young

SG - DeMar DeRozan

SF - DeAndre Hunter

PF - John Collins

C - Andre Drummond

Will that roster be a legit competitor for an NBA title next season?...  for an Eastern Conference title?... to be an Eastern Conference semi-finalist?... or something less? And why do you come to the conclusion that you do, of course (?).

Trae and DeRozan in the backcourt defensively? Yikes.  How much are we paying DD and Drummond combined?

In contention for ECF and should make the 2nd round.   Neither Drummond nor DeRozan is that good - just solid.  (Think a step below Kyle Lowry’s role for the Raps last year).  Trae needs to be MVP level for that lineup to win a ring, imo.

No!  I don't like it because Andre only makes about 60% of his free throws.
