hawkster411
Aldridge was saying that Sheed will be going. He won't be going to the knicks, but most likely Detroit. He said Detroit is willing to take the chance for Sheed's services for a few months. Detroit is wanting to resign Okur (sp?)...i just saw it on tv...comments! sinctybldh
Tayshaun Prince, Darko and a first round pick would work. Nice young talent to build on.
HawkTodd
Detroit is not trading Darko! Can you imagine how the Mavericks would feel now if they traded a young Dirk in a deadline deal when he was struggling early on in his career. The kid is 17 years old, Detroit is not that stupid. hawkster411
A trade will mostly happen in the next 24 hours. Billy Knight will get youth. Either a draft pick or Darko, the hawks will get some kind of investement for the future.
codyatl
if we have to take on a bad contract like chucky atkins i would demand that eithe rprince or darkop is invilved in the deal. no way i taek on his contract w/o 1 of those 2 in the deal. I doubt that they let darko go after just 1 season but who knows if they get sheed they will be the best team in the east easily and may even be a challenge for the west in the finals. Theres always hope that we can pry darko away from them.
CHORO44
I'm hoping for Prince as I think him and Diaw would be great together on the floor.
hawkster411
Choro, If Oliver Miller can some how transfer some of his body weight to Diaw and Prince. I might actually like that duo. As of now, we would be watching sticks on tv (diaw/prince).
Blunt91
somone posted on Realgm stated that the Memphis Grizzlies was the 3rd team. Let's see Bonzi Wells and Stromile Swift would be nice to replace Rasheed.
hawkster411
In order to get Bonzi/Swift, what do we have to give up? Sheed/JT or Sheed/Henderson(wishful thinking)?
CHORO44
I understand that they are both skinny but they have three things going for them: they are young, have length(wingspan), and know how to play basketball. In two years these two paired with a legit three point shooter like Ray Allen could be menacing locking up the guy they guard.
Premium Member Diesel Posted February 19, 2004 Premium Member Report Share Posted February 19, 2004 When Dallas had Dirk, they were never in contention to win a championship. If Detroit gets Wallace, they will be the favorite to come out of the East and possibly be the first Eastern team capable of winning the NBA title in a long time. How much is that worth to a franchise. Well, let's see. Dallas hasn't sniffed a Championship and that's with Dirk being Dirk. Secondly, Dirk's first year, he played in 42 games, started 24 of them and he played 20.4 mpg. Darko has started NONE and has played a total of 54 minutes. That's with his longest outing being a 9 minute game. He's NO Dirk.
