Guest
New York trades: SG Allan Houston (20.4 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 2.5 apg in 37.8 minutes) SF Shandon Anderson (5.0 ppg, 3.0 rpg, 0.9 apg in 19.5 minutes) New York receives: PG Damon Stoudamire (13.6 ppg, 3.9 rpg, 6.5 apg in 37.3 minutes) SG Derek Anderson (10.8 ppg, 2.7 rpg, 3.1 apg in 26.6 minutes) Change in team outlook: -1.0 ppg, +0.3 rpg, and +6.2 apg. Portland trades: PG Damon Stoudamire (13.6 ppg, 3.9 rpg, 6.5 apg in 37.3 minutes) SG Derek Anderson (10.8 ppg, 2.7 rpg, 3.1 apg in 26.6 minutes) Portland receives: SG Allan Houston (20.4 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 2.5 apg in 77 games) SF Shandon Anderson (5.0 ppg, 3.0 rpg, 0.9 apg in 82 games) Change in team outlook: +1.0 ppg, -0.3 rpg, and -6.2 apg. TRADE ACCEPTED Due to New York and Portland being over the cap, the 15% trade rule is invoked. New York and Portland had to be no more than 115% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. You have been assigned Trade ID number 734176 Talk about it on the Trade Board How to use Trade ID: Go to www.realgm.com and enter the trade id into the box provided on the left menu bar, then press go. Blazers: PG:McInnis/Daniels SG:Houston/Patterson/Anderson SF:Wells/Patterson/Pippen/Woods PF:Wallace/Kemp/Zach C [:D] avis/Sabonis Knicks Have: PG:Damon Stoudamire/Ward SG:Spree/Howard E/Postell SF D.Anderson/Spoon PF D ice/Harrington C:Thomas/Dolec/Knight Blazers get rid of Damon and Anderson and get Houston/Shannon Anderson I think less personaility is more good for the Blazers. The Knicks get a PG and Spree moves back to SG and they get a good swingman in Anderson. I think this could actually happen.
Guest
Hotlanta, I agree with you in principal (that they'll trade Stoudamire), but I'm not sure if that's the one that'll happen. As I mentioned, for some unknown reason, I think it'll be a three-way trade. Gotta hand it to you though, the trade's realistic and you brought up Anderson, a better player than most realize IMO - someone that needs to get outta NY. cyman3
Stoudmire and Houston are both good players in this league, just overpaid. NY needs a PG in the worse way possible. Im sure they'll love to have their hands on Stoudmire. I see Stoudmire out of Portland this year!
BlackHawkDown
I see why NY would do it but I dont think it makes much sense for Portland.
Guest
Well McInnis is a better PG than Damon is and Damon makes too much to be another backup. And Derek Anderson is a pure crybaby and they are better off playing Ruben Patterson instead. The Blazers also get a pure shooter in which they lack I think it makse sense for both teams.
Traceman
The problem is that NY thinks Houston is better than he really is so they probably won't do it. I think NY would be CRAZY not to do this deal though. Houston is a great shooter but he's not nearly as well rounded a player as Anderson is plus they get that desperately needed starting PG. Stoudamire Anderson Spree McDyess Doleac That lineup beats the hell out of what they have now. For Portland, Houston should fit in nicely. He and Wallace would make a nice inside/outside combo. McInnis/Daniels Houston/Wells/Anderson Pippen/Patterson/Woods Wallace/Kemp/Randolph Davis/Sabonis If they could package together a couple of guys and get a true Center, they would be set. I wonder what the Clips would want for Olowokandi? Since Miami is rebuilding (or strongly considering it), would they take a package that included Woods, Wells and Randolph for Zo? Just some thoughts...
Premium Member Diesel Posted August 13, 2002 Premium Member Report Share Posted August 13, 2002 I agree weasel. In fact, maybe not a threeway. Maybe a lonely 2 way. I wouldn't be surprised to see Stoudamire going to Golden State. GS has a whole lot of Overpaid Crap Players and they have a need at PG. The other thing is that Stoudamire is not as bad as he has been in PTL. He's still the same ROY guy that played for Zeke in Toronto. New Surroundings with a team like NY or GS might do him a world of Good. If he were to go to NY, why not for Spreewell? If he goes to GS, why not for: Mills, Sura, and Foyle for Stoudamire/Anderson. Traceman
Better question, would you would rather have Houston and his contract or Spree and his contract? If I were NY, I'd rather keep Spree and deal Houston.
