Back in 1974 or 1975, the Hawks traded Maravich to the New Orleans Jazz in exchange for a bunch of crappy players and very high draft pick(s.

We drafted David Thompson and Marvin Webster that year and neither one signed with us. We ended up trading Maravich for Dean Meminger essentially.

Yeah, I was there for that game.. I was booing MJ lustily every time he touched the ball. I got lots of glares for that. Philips Arena booed Reef during free throws during that game too.

When we played INDY in the playoffs and Indy fans filled the OMNI with White Rally towels... And it was evident that there were more Indy fans than Hawks fans...
