  1. It seems as though our Hawks are still in pursuit of a player like Dwight Howard (If not him). If so they may want to either play Horford as a pf and Josh as sf or they want to move one of the forwards and get a top notch center and/or small forward. It was just a move to keep the options open . A business move nonetheless. Even though I personally wanted Damion James to be on our team and will still keep him in my 2k13 association!!
  2. I was going to say probably Hakim Warrick but he might play for the Hornets now.
  3. 3 Franchise centers are about the only worthwhile centers in this league now of days. If Horford would embrace his role like Bosh and Garnett he would definitely be one of the top centers in this league now of days.
  4. Maybe he could not keep up with our new run and gun style for an 82 game season and wasn't impresssive enough to be a formidable big in our league.
  5. How is forcing the Nets to take Joe instead of Dwight Howard a mistake?? Clears our books for a top player(s) maybe even Dwight. Dwights in the west instead of the east. Joe is on the decline like it or not. Lakers will not be able to afford all their stars especially if it doesn't work out as planned. Players like Rudy Gay and Tyreke Evans can be bargains and come as hidden gems on our team alongside Josh, Teague and maybe Horford.
  6. I know coach Drew was proud to hear his leader lead. I smh at fans sometimes that don't actually know how to play or understand the game but have so much to say about it. There doesn't sound like there was anything wrong with making that move especially as the best defensive player on the team( and one of the best in the league for that matter) . Coaches love/need an extension on the court and it usually comes from the point guard. Josh is going to demand defense from his teammates because nobody likes to do a team job alone. If he is ok with the players not looking over their shoulders for coach to make every decision than they must be on the right track atleast as far as effort is concerned.
  7. I'm guessing their talking about all the Hawks we brought to Atlanta to kill the pigeons. Who ironically are coming back... But the Hawks hate is also irrelevant seeing that we've been a playoff team for the last five years. If it was a Bobcat joke it would probably make more sense.
  8. I appreciate that he still showed love and respect to Atlanta and our players and core. The nba is/has changing/changed though and size doesn't matter more than skill and other advantages such as speed. There is a reason point guards are becoming more popular and fruitful in this league. Their were pretty good point guards throughout league history but new league rules have given the smaller quicker players more of an advantage in these latter years. Speeding the game up makes it more exciting and the league knows it so they've been catering to the speedsters!!
  9. Exactly!! If that doesn't show that we're imposing our will and that this style of play works I don't know what will. Now that they have a proper supporting cast instead of being the supporting cast I'm sure you will see the advantages of having the 2 bigs we have. Miami sees/saw it. Boston and New York understand it and as the league continues to move forward y'all will see alot more teams copying our model. I think Horford's time out while watching Zaza and Ivan man his position as well as watching the finals has opened his eyes a bit to embracing his role as well. Dwight is an inch taller than him and the best center in the league!! Horford should be able to do alot more once he fully embraces his role and if not like Ferry said trading options are always available. Horford is a beast against Hibbert and Noah but can't handle the likes of Bosh and Garnett who are both power forwards who just recently moved to the center position. Al's a top five center and maybe a top 10-20 power forward. Josh is at least top 8 in that position so it's a clear choice of who should stay or go!! I think we will see what we were originally looking forward to with our bigs tandem. Get the rebound and run run run it doesn't matter who brings the ball up the court because we have five capable starters that can lead a break.

All these suggestions show just how versatile and deep we really are. Kudos to Ferry!!
  11. I'm rooting to drop Petro and keep Keith Benson and one of the Jame's preferably Damion.

With Josh on the floor it will depend on the match ups whether Tolliver's playing small forward or not.

Devin Harris Louis Williams Kyle Korver Anthony Tolliver Ivan Johnson If this is our bench mob we are a deep and formidable team. Not even mentioning our rookies John Jenkins and Mike Scott along with Damian James and James Anderson fighting for that final spot. I also can't forget to include a training camp roster that can surprise and over take that last spot like Ivan Johnson did last year.

  15. I guess Ferry couldn't stand seeing more than one Williams on the team. This is another good/flexible move to make room for players that fill more of a need.
  16. Y'all are sleeping on Teague and it's laughable as a Hawks fan. I think Teague will show everyone from Garnett on down that he's not a nobody in this league. He's athletic, can defend, is versatile offensively and only had his first chance of real playing time last year!! Sleep if you must but I think this is the year Teague is going to wake people up. Devin Harris will be a good backup if he plays his role correctly.
  17. Good job of misinterpreting and yes that was kind of funny. You forgot Korver on your list though. I also wouldn't be surprised if some of our players stepped up their shooting just by environment (competition) alone.
  18. Anthony Morrow, Kyle Korver, John Jenkins can shoot the lights out!! Louis Williams, Jeff Teague, Devin Harris and Deshawn Stevenson aren't too shabby either and like it or not Smoove can hit the three ball as well !! If we don't get at least one player in the 3pt contest next season it'll be a travesty!! We should average atleast 100pts per game. We are like the old suns of the East with better defense in the front court and a different point guard dynamic. I see Teague as another Rondo in ways of how Teague will emerge as a star. Rondo kind of gradually but surely made his way to being one the league's top point guards as his role increased. Add Lou and Devin and you have a nice combo at the guard position that all bring a little something different to the table while still all being aggressive guards. Anyone who forgets how good our front court can be together better pay attention this season!! They are going to thrive in a run and gun system and may both increase their offensive rebounds as well. Ivan, Deshawn and Zaza help boast toughness and they rest of our key players are gunners!! It's gonna be a pretty fun season and barring injuries and distractions we might exceed better than most anticipated !!
  19. He actually can play center and would work well on our team. His main issues are his mindset and mentality. That didn't hurt Ivan because we have a buffer in Josh. It might also help Williams. SMH to anyone who dares mention him as a sf though. He's an athletic shot blocker not shot maker.
  20. I know Ferry is new to us but he does not seem like the type of person to get a player just to have a player. He is very selective with his team building and Al Jefferson does not fit the build.
  21. 1.)Horford can do most of that with alot more athleticism. I can remember two spectacular games against the Bulls and the Pacers that was alot more exciting!! (I almost fell asleep on a five minute clip) 2.)That was against the Pistons and a Rookie that's not too known for his defense. 3.)Where is the defense? Does it look like we're trying to create a half court team? 4.)Jefferson doesn't fit our team as constructed and we definitely should not reconstruct our team for Jefferson. It'll be four players running trying to make the quick play or us not using our speed advantage and walking the ball up to wait for Jefferson. Gives good defenses a perfect chance to be set by the time we all get up the court.
  22. Y'all keep assuming what Ferry or players are going to do but you can only take what's given. He hasn't maxed out Harden, or Lin or Asik for that matter. Why would you assume he'd get rid of a contract like JJ's just to add another large over paying contract. As far as this city this isn't the Pete Babcock days anymore. People like Jamal, McGrady, Stackhouse saw that this team was no longer a joke and moving in the right direction. Tracy and Jerry want rings now at this stage in their career and they choose to come here. We seen that with the Lakers and Celtics but the Hawks are slowly but surely entering a new era!! Atlanta is a desirable city anyway. No one was jumping up and down for the Heat at a time but it's a desirable destination if Management proves it is consistently about winning!!
  23. I think you missed the point of the post JJ is declining as you will see in Brooklyn. His contract isn't if Josh had that contract right now it wouldn't hurt as much because again he is only 26 and still improving every year. Good business is not breaking the bank on declining players. Yes we may have picked up some mediocre shooters but everyone we have currently has a good and flexible contract meaning we are not hindered to make real moves. Make your argument when we pick up a bad contract or a horrible player. Until then business seems to be going in the right direction. No job is permanent and everyone knows that but the smart companies readjust accordingly to be successful.

    SMDH...

Would have liked but I ran out but Thank you for showing some respect. I forget that half the new "fans" are band wagon and don't truly understand the history of our team. That's why the sky seems to fall with them regardless if we make moves or don't!! Nothing will work for them until they see us as true championship contenders and even when we do win our 1st they will be crying fluke.
  25. Jo Josh took an ill advised shot with a couple of seconds left on the clock. Horford missed his free throws. Teague was not convincing enough on his fouled last shot. Drew got out coached with a great play to get Josh the open lane for a dunk but Doc took the quick foul. Worst of all Joe got sonned by Paul Pierce getting blocked with that slow dribble and drive to the hole. I don't know if either one of them ever left the ground. All in all we lost as a team but our 100 million dollar man couldn't finish the play strong. Yes that whole series could have went either way but the guy who was suppose to lead us ran out of gas. It would have maybe been acceptable if he carried our team during most of last year but that load was carried more by Josh and our deep bench!! I thought Joe was saving his energy for the playoffs but apparently not.
