  1. As long as there's open spots, count me in too. I'd love to join you guys.
  2. I don't understand why you think giving someone the starting position implies receiving extended minutes. I'm simply saying that having both of them on the court at the start of the game is going to create the spacing Josh and Al need to operate. I also don't understand why you're so comfortable with Josh playing the 3.. He's a below-average perimeter defender who could probably get beaten off the dribble by Paul Pierce's fossil-ass, his own perimeter game is nothing to be excited about either, as he has trouble getting around other 4's without dribbling the ball of his damn foot, and his jumper... that jump shot... oh god... the number of jump shots he would let fly at the SF position makes me cringe. And though I agree with you that Zaza has earned himself more minutes, a starting role and/or getting more than 30 minutes a game is out of the question as we now have Petro who despite the criticism, is a serviceable big man. They should be played with either Al/Josh, but not both. And I'm not saying Josh at the 3 is going to kill us in short stints at different points in the game, but we definitely shouldn't consider it as a first option.
  3. Personally, I want to see both Morrow and Korver in the starting line up. Not because they're the best options, but because they would keep the opposing team's defense honest enough at the start to allow Al and Josh to set up their post game without receiving instant doubles. This also sets up Teague for efficient pick and roll play with Al and Josh, since help defenders would be shooting themselves in the foot by cheating even slightly on Korver/Morrow. Not to mention, a bench tandem of Devin and Lou coming in at the 6-7 minute mark would be ridiculous. Also, as much as love what he brings to the team, I really, really, really, really, really, really don't want to see Josh at the 3.
  4. I'm really hoping I can be in attendance for Joe's first Atlanta return. If my class/job schedule permits it, there is no way I'm going to miss out on the chance to cheer for Joe when he comes out of the gate. I won't clap or shout when he scores a point, gets a stop, rebound, or assist, but a warm welcome out of the gate is the least we owe him.
  5. No, no.. we got rid of Joe for the excitement part. These new guys are just the icing.
  6. From Uni Watch Somewhere right now, Mookie, Smitty, and Deke are cracking up picturing Teague, Josh, and Al donning their era's jerseys. I can't wait for this!
  7. Should have been more specific on that remark, but I think it's pretty obvious I was referring to Tim Duncan from the "05/07 Spurs." Also, Dirk is most definitely a superstar. You see, when someone has the credentials of being an NBA MVP, Finals MVP, 11 time All-Star, 4 time All-NBA first team, 5 time All-NBA second team, 3 time All-NBA third team, and NBA champion he's pretty much a shoe-in for superstar status.
  8. I can't say I'm surprised they let him throw the first pitch, however I am surprised that he didn't dribble out the shot clock, size up his defender, and throw a contested pitch. But in all seriousness, it's great to see Joe receiving some love and recognition in his new home. Live it up Joe, you deserve it.
  9. Ha ha, I'm sorry, but did you just say the greatest power forward of all time isn't a superstar?
  10. This conflicting media is pissing me off. From here on out, if the deal isn't completed and official I'm not bothering.
  11. If we're playing Smoove at the 3, we might as well play Zaza at the point.
  12. If he had spent half of his time working on his game instead of becoming a bad poet, he might have amounted to something in the NBA. Talk about being delusional..
  13. Bringing back the guy who chose some half-assed Greek team over us solely for the money? Hell no.
  14. I was under the impression that there would be an option stating we raise a statue of Ferry, but "great" will suffice..
  15. A few, quick words from Joe regarding his new team. http://www.nba.com/v...ls=iref:nbahpt2

  17. The latest from hoopshype.. Dwight Howard isn't the only big man on the minds of the Los Angeles Lakers' front office staff these days. One source familiar with the trade negotiations said Thursday that calls between the Houston Rockets and Lakers discussing a three-way trade have cooled, while the Atlanta Hawks appear to be gaining steam in their pursuit of Howard. 18. Mary Schmitt Boyer/Tom Reed: I am being told nothing imminent with #Cavs/Humphries. @Adreian Wojnarowski correct when he says it's all about stockpiling draft picks. Twitter
  19. I'm sorry, but for who or what exactly were you expecting the Hawks to net from trading Joe? I am in no way a Joe hater. I absolutely loved his game and what he brought to this team, but he simply never was nor will he ever be a franchise player. More power to him for the six All-Star appearances as it's quite a feat, but I don't think personal accolades alone can justify the trade as simply bad. The Hawks haven't been considered legitimate contenders under Joe Johnson's leadership for a single season, his contract restricts us in every way imaginable, we consistently exit the playoffs in the first or second round, and he's on the wrong side of 30. Couple all those factors and you really have to consider us fortunate for getting rid of him regardless of the talent we got back.
  20. It was to my knowledge only Jordan Farmar would be bought out as he has a buyout clause in his contract.
  21. I don't exactly remember where, but I read that the pick is lottery protected up until 2016. Edit : RT @KBergCBS The first-round pick going to Atlanta via Houston is top-14 protected through 2016. Becomes second-round pick and cash in 2017.
  22. I might have believed it if the relocation was to a city with a bigger market than Atlanta, but St. Louis?.. Get real...
  23. When someone is offering to take Joe and his hideous contract off your hands, I don't care if they're offering a washing machine and a stick of gum, you shut your mouth and take the damn deal.
  24. Adreian Wojnarowski ‏@WojYahooNBA League source tells Y! that Joe Johnson deal now likely "happens with or without Deron." Nets officials are meeting with Williams right now. Look's like it's a wrap. Done deal.
  25. RT @WojYahooNBA: Atlanta will select Vanderbilt's John Jenkins with the 23rd pick, league source tells Y! Sports.
