AUhawksfan replied to JayBirdHawk's topic in Homecourt
Man, they sure are spending for the front office left and right but didn't want to go into the LT for Huerter. -

They're saying all the right things, which is what you want in a GM. I don't think it's all "doom and gloom" but I also wonder if they're focusing on building an identity and culture because they know they can control that better than personnel decisions. If Landry, Kyle, and the Resslers are aligned then maybe all will be well but all it takes is a disagreement and Tony/Nick coming in to insert their power to make something happen or not happen and we're still in the same spot. You figure they're going to disagree on something at some point so we'll see how that plays out. -
I’m still holding hope after seeing Brooklyn turn it around. I just wonder if ownership is too cheap and won’t want to fire Nate this season to save some dough and see if he steps down. I’ve given Nate the benefit of the doubt but now is the time. It needs to happen.

Bud deserves honorable mention for how he left.

Bold Prediction: Steve Nash will be the Hawks next coach
AUhawksfan replied to JTB's topic in Homecourt
I think we need to find that bright video guy buried somewhere. There has to be another Brad Stevens or Spoelstra hiding out somewhere that has some fresh ideas for this team. I'd rather take that risk than go with Nash. -

For those of you that want Nash, what have you seen from the guy? He speaks well but as far as "walk the walk" I haven't seen anything. I feel like we'd be mired in the same spot as we are now and as Brooklyn was - just a middling team. Give me a coach that runs some offensive sets......please! -
I get the thought of having momentum and not wanting a timeout but you’d need at least 2-3 more additional seconds on the clock to actually make something of that. I think you go for the momentum play in that case but this was clearly a different scenario and didn’t give anything except a poor, contested three. “Feel for the game” didn’t help here Nate. Which - side note - I also never understood because he doesn’t feel out his rotations and is extremely rigid there sometimes.

Yeah….I’m not quite ready to have Nate pack his bags but if we are making a change I’d rather see what another coach can utilize with this roster rather than trade away Collins or really any player at this point.
-
Knicks looking to trade him again? Man. I'd still go back and draft him because he was worth taking a look at IMO and he showed enough flashes to see the potential on why we gave him a chance. Lucky for us, we got a look at him and still got a first round pick back for him. I think the most he can hope for is to be a solid bench player in this league, which I think is attainable.

Yikes, I’ve always had a soft spot for Bob. I hate to hear that, wishing for the best.

I think a lot of folks are quick to judge here. Really hard to tell who is at fault but if I were to guess it sounds like both of them to a certain extent. If we knew the situation fully, maybe someone is more at fault but who knows.

I just think we need to be reluctant to make a change yet solely because guys are struggling offensively. It’s nice to not be such a pushover on defense this year. I’d hate to bring someone in that might help the offense, only to just lose it right back on D. I just can’t picture our shooting getting worse. I still want to see how that plays out. To be 11-7 with as much offensive struggle we’ve had is still pretty good considering and better than a lot of pundits thought coming into the season.

It took him a season and a half, but Nate is really maturing out there.

Official Game Thread: Rockets at Hawks -- The Season Opener!

Not shooting well from 3 but still holding a nice lead. Much better change from last year where it felt like we had to really lean on a good shooting night from behind the arc.- 484 replies

It's not make or break for me, but realistically if we go 0-5 against that competition I would be fairly concerned. Even if we only manage a couple wins though, I won't think too much of it. Especially if we are competitive.

Just like I imagined. Someone's proud grandma working hard to get her boys their game day threads. I bet she gives them orange slices after the games too.

I knew that.....I'm with it! I'm hip. I'm not old or "sus". I definitely didn't capitalize each word manually. Who does that?

I Don’t Know Either But It Sure Is A Lot Of Unnecessary Extra Work.

That’s an impressive step up from being trade fodder. Let’s go Bruno!

Jamal Murray.

Would you do the Joe Johnson Trade Again? (This is a Series)....
AUhawksfan replied to Diesel's topic in Homecourt
Because of Joe, I can still go watch him break Leon Powe’s ankles and drain a 3 in the playoffs. So yes, all day. -
Which player do you identify with most on our roster?
AUhawksfan replied to Spud2nique's topic in Homecourt
I’m JJ, I only show up occasionally due to my coach (boss), but when I do I make an impact!!! -

These old bones can't handle the load, so I have to be like a microwave when I post and make the most of the minutes I got. Quality > quantity. We need you and @kg01 to keep the minutes up for team morale, although I'm not really sure who is keeping both of you in check.
