  1. It has been Jekyl and Hyde to this point but we have momentum going the right direction now. If we can keep this going and move up the east ranks I think a 1 or 2 seed could definitely be in reach and would do wonders for us in the playoffs.
  2. One more day: Until I remember why I like this time of year (sorry college football). Until I get a new sense of excitement, even with summer gone and cold weather looming. Until I stay up later than I should watching my team crank out a win. Until I feverishly look at box scores and quotes the next day after a game (and hopefully less on the injury updates this year). Until the games matter. Until I see what the young guys can do. Until my Hawks play. Side note: I thought the game was today, therefore I had to do something to commemorate the day before we have our epic game threads begin. Go Hawks! Someone feel free to merge with @JayBirdHawk thread. Definitely overlooked that.
  3. I could see that being an exception, if an individual has a medical reason for not getting it. That’s not the case for most who are refusing though. I see it as a public health/safety issue more than anything. An employer can require an individual to wear safety glasses or a hard hat on the job for safety reasons and folks don’t bat an eye. To me it’s the same if an employer wants to require the vaccination for public health in their work environment. The thing that makes it tricky for most folks is all the misinformation and conspiracy theories, hence making it less of a black and white issue for a lot of folks.
  4. People have personal freedoms but so do businesses. If the business (NBA) comes to a consensus and decides to force players to sit who aren’t vaccinated that’s also there choice. Those individuals who are skeptical or want the ability to choose can still do so. That doesn’t mean there aren’t going to be consequences to what they choose. Seems pretty black and white to me, the problem is most people just want to have their cake and eat it too.
  5. The playoff guarantee was a big one. I knew they set themselves up for failure and you think they would’ve learned from Ray Buchanan. Josh Smith was a disappointment for me as well, and seeing his decline and career end the way it did. I remember plenty of amazing plays but I remember the groans from myself and the Hawks crowd even more when he would pull up for an ill advised shot. So much talent untapped.
  6. I can't find the exact quote but Giannis said something along the lines of being content even if he never won another championship since he has now done it. They caught a lot of breaks and I'd be curious to see if they have that same fire to defend it - that takes another level of motivation. I see plenty of other teams (including ours) that could come out in the playoffs, catch them off guard, and beat them.
  7. It is crazy the amount of depth on this team from top to bottom. I think that was so key to us last year during a shortened injury riddled season for almost every team. I'm so used to having at least 4-5 scrubs on the team. Now it's just Solo and at least that dude can play the goofy uncle role with some good tweets for side entertainment. Everybody is bringing something!
  8. I mean.....I don't think Lebron is the best passer in the league but this pretty much just seems like a Lebron hate post/rant. What does this have to do with the Hawks?
  9. I assume the shot clock still stays on though right? I like the strategy but wouldn't want to go back to the old days of putting folks to sleep just passing around the perimeter until something opens up.
  10. I went with the unpopular name folks don't like around here......Doncic. But honestly, they have a great relationship with each other and know how to have fun out there and dominate at the same time. I think that kind of young confidence could take them all the way without knowing any better. And people could then shut up about who is better as they both dominate.
  11. Not at all for Bud. I’m lukewarm on Teague, don’t really care either way. I like Booker and would like to see CP3 get a ring instead due to his terrible luck in the past.
  12. Why you gotta do this? I mean, I know who you’re talking about but that still didn’t play nice with my eyes. McCollum and Nurkic? I wonder if the Dame rumors are getting to them. I wonder if Portland will blow it up. I don’t know much about Nurkic and his defense but it would be nice to have some size like that off the bench.
  13. I have to go with Trae shushing MSG. It was the first big moment that showed me the Hawks are for real and just made me sit back and go..........ok, Trae, ok.
  14. From just wanting make the playoffs to being our most successful team ever, big thanks to the Hawks for an unforgettable and just plain fun season. And big props to Gallo for holding up health wise and doing his thing in the playoffs. He also exceeded my expectations.
  15. What about Huerter? I think he has a place too.
  16. Trae hurt us in the end but how can we say that without mentioning we wouldn’t be this far without him? Let’s keep this depth and heal and we’ll be ready for the next run. I’m excited to hopefully see Cam flourish under Nate. Dude isn’t afraid of the spotlight.
  17. Nothing I’ve seen makes me want Dunn back. All I wanted to see was just some semblance of an offense.
  18. Can I just say something? Hasn’t this playoffs just been fun? I’m just having a good time, enjoy it Squawkers. In the past, Hawks teams have made me nervous based on previous failures and not living up to expectations but let me tell you, I’m just enjoying this ride and you should too.
  19. "Senior Chief Executive Vibes Officer" checks out. I'm feeling the vibes from Mr. Collins! Let's see those vibes on the court tonight! Y'all keep your dirty minds out of the above comment, please.
  20. I wouldn't say those are excuses as much as they are the truth....we have just not been good enough. For once, I feel we are good enough but even if it doesn't work out this year we are setup to compete for years to come. They need to approach tonight like a Game 7. It has that kind of vibe to me.
  21. Bogi was pressing last night but once again as @NBASupes said, that's more on Nate. Whether it's Bogi or Solo or someone else they need to sit if they aren't providing meaningful minutes. This is a very targeted conversation based on some games he has played in the playoffs when not 100% but Bogi's body of work over this season has been pretty good. Enough so, that regardless of what happens in the playoffs I don't see why we wouldn't continue to see how he pans out instead of continuing to recycle this same conversation again and again.
  22. Not to mention OO getting taken out on that alley oop he made, but no "and 1" called. I'm not going to blame the refs since there is plenty we could've done to pull this one out but there is no way Milwaukee would've pulled away in the 4th like they did if it weren't for the calls going their way.
  23. Man, this thread is full of overreactions. I’m still team Nate and we wouldn’t be here without him. The loss sucks but let’s see how we come out next game. The series is not over but we need to take the next one 100% if Trae is healthy.
