  1. I started watching closely right after Nique left, so I really became a fan with the Mookie, Smitty, Laettner, Deke teams. Had to go with Mookie - have a general slant towards solid PGs; he was crazy good in steals and pushing the pace and setting the tone. Smitty is a very close second. Fave backups (for no real quantifiable reason) during that period were Craig Ehlo, Eldridge Recasner, Henry James, Priest Lauderdale.
  2. Thank you. Been trying to get ladies to believe me on this for years. Anyway, with as good as Moose has been playing and an impending logjam in the front court, I am smelling a possible trade, even if it is just for picks (or the dreaded and much less intriguing "cash considerations").
  3. Um, do you guys not see what is happening here!?! Al is a Hawk FOR LIFE! He's stealth-tanking the Celts for us! We don't even have to pay him AND he's eating up TONS of their cap!!! Al is a subversive ninja Hawk, bent on killing the C's from within. This "concussion" is a front. Next it will be a splinter in his pinky on his non-shooting hand, and then it will be a reeeally really bad case of the squirts. Then he'll be out for a sore pu.... Well, "female reasons" and accompanying monthly migraines and cramps. Say what you want, but Bud and Al planned this sh!t front the jump. Don't talk smack about Al, he's helping take down the biggest Hawks rival team. He should be given a medal.
  4. Something else worth watching that effects the Hawks in the SE division is the descent of the Wizards into the abyss. I think currently they are 2-7, Gortat is publicly talking trash about his bench is the worst in the league, and all those predictions about how the Zards are going to be a contender are looking more and more ridiculous.
  5. All of the peachtreehoops guys are major Al wHoreford nuthuggers and act like losing him was such a detrimental thing that the Hawks would almost certainly never recover. I listen to the Locked on Hawks podcast every day and Brad Rowland never fails to mention how much he dislikes the move for Howard and how Al is the superior bball player blah blah blah. The podcast itself is alright I guess, not great, but I find myself mainly listening now to see at what point he will ever actually admit that the Dwight signing was a good deal (if ever, still lots of games to play, I admit) and if he will ever change his view of Horf.
  6. Wow, just noticed Moose in his Capri pants. This might be my very first Hawk-in-Capri-pants sighting. ... things I wish I could unsee, but can't And Bembry looks like he stole my grandmother's velvet jogging suit (that she wears on her strolls through the parking lot at her nursing home). And Dennis clearly got inspiration for his attire from an episode of Hoarders. Thabo was really trying to pretend like he didn't know these guys until they snagged him for the photo.
  7. Um... @bleachkit , Baze thanks you for the inspiration, as does the rest of Hawksquawk. Well played.
  8. Funniest part of this post is that it is from JSmoove. i knew he was a big fan of the Hawks and Dwight, but seems a bit too soon for him to be showing up at games cheering us on. Thought he would be trying to make a team somewhere or something... What? Was nobody else gonna say anything?
  9. These BOS posts are hilarious ... They're just two games into the season and the disappointment is already mounting. The realization of unfounded expectations is coming alive. Not that I'm wishing it on the man or anything, but can you imagine the outrage and disappointment if (after paying him $30M/yr) Alice tears another titty?? All of Boston would f*ckin go insane. Nobody could handle it. BSPN's website would short circuit. There would be a presidential press conference. All kinds of chaos would ensue. I would *almost* feel bad. ... Al "taking over games" hahahahahahaha still can't stop laughing about that!
  10. I started off by listening to the radio while in my car and early on Steve Holman said "we're 90 seconds into the first game and Dwight Howard has four rebounds. Somebody else we know had five rebounds in an entire game the other night." Who could that be? Lol. I was rolling.
  11. I don't think so, pretty sure it was near Nuremberg or Erlangen (not in Franconia, right?). I had recently discovered a love for German bier and Vodka Orange while I was studying at a university over there 15 yrs ago so my memory of the trip is not so good. But I always imagine Dennis and Dirk gobbling up that stuff for whatever reason. I never heard it called Eisbein though, but I will trust Wikipedia and the actual German squawkers. I bet there were a lot of Germans watching the Hawks tonight keeping an eye on Dennis the Wunderkind. Still a bit rough around the edges but a good showing nonetheless. Speaking as one of the few native Georgians, I am happy that the Hawks have such an international following.
  12. When I was in Germany, I liked the rauchbier, but not so much the knochla. Y'all can keep that. There's a reason they don't serve that at Der biergarten just down the street from Philips Arena.
  13. Eh, I actually think that's a good deal, for him and the team. Now when he and Dirk go out for some echtes bayerisches Knochla und Rauchbier he can pick up the tab.
  14. Maybe. I heard him say it was accurate but sometimes what's not said is more telling. Perhaps I'm just worried about Sap walking after this season for nothing like B@tchA$$ Alice did. I think that's a syndrome, right? Battered Hawks Fan Syndrome?
  15. Charles "Nostradummy" Barkley just says random sh!t to stir the pot on the show. I hope our guys see this and use it as motivation and when they're in the ECF they call out Charles for his horrible prediction and let him know that they used it to light that fiya!
  16. When asked, "It looked like you [and Dwight] were meshing really well, is that an accurate assessment?" Sap had a loooong pause and wrenched face. Was that because he doesn't like D8 or does he just feel like they have a long way to go to mesh? Or both? Also, does Dennis shave his legs? They look silky smooth.
  17. Could be good for us since we seem to do a fair number of two year deals. Also hope they put in some better benefits associated early bird rights too.
  18. Exciting news about Bembry and Dwight for sure. I think Baze is going to turn out to be incredibly valuable to the Hawks organization, even if his on court production stays the same. He is a great ambassador for the team, is an amazing athletic specimen, has a fantastic personality and competitive edge. I think he helps create consistent positive buzz about the team. The Baze Gaze is hilarious. His history of promotingmaking Under Armor successful in marketing to others is encouraging. Seems honest and down to earth in his interviews. Doing all the right stuff. I sure hope this keeps up. I really think the past couple years we lost a lot between Quinn and and Kenny. Hope Bud, Ham, and Crawford can keep up the good work.
  19. Yeah, I would much rather give it a go long term with Sap, especially over LMA. I like his versatility and hard hat attitude over Aldridge and his pouty disgruntled self. Sap and his game should age well as long as the knee holds up.
  20. Yo @Spud2Nique. Uh, did you really write that you'll need a "subway footlong Jared style" and think that'd be okay? Kiddie porn Jared that went to jail? I don't even know what that means exactly, or what that guy is doing with foot longs in his "subway" while he is in jail, but... Gross, bruh. Gross. Too far. Shame on you.
  21. Seems like they said at some point last season that they were working on it but it takes two or three years. I think paperwork is being shuffled around and studies are being done, etc. As an aside, I'd suggest going with an Oxford comma in your subject line; it's a sign of a gentleman.
  22. Henson isn't a great haul or anything, but for him and a 2nd I would do that trade for THJr and Tiago yesterday. I know that right now Timmy is having a great preseason game against the Pelicsns but I just don't buy it as anything other than a flash in the pan. Pull the trigger, Budcox!
  23. Agree on Magette, Costello, and Bynum. I am ready to move on from THJr and Splitter. We all know why with Timmy, and Splitter is oft-injured and his butterfingered bobbly hands have been overrated IMHO. Maybe some team would want Splitter enough to take both in a package for a future second round pick? 2020? That way Kelly and Moose could stay in case Sap has more injury issues or Scott winds up in the pokey. I think Moose should stay to get another chance to prove himself. He is young and on a VERY cheap deal (that goes through next season) and has been mostly looking good this preseason.
