  1. This was true in December. After the Spurs game, outside of a miracle vs Houston, the Hawks were looking completely overmatched against good teams that were faced. It was just masked because January was such a weak schedule. If the December version of Dennis is back, this might be fine.
  2. Isaiah Thomas is crying that he didn't get any calls lmfao.
  3. If "December Dennis" is back, I may be wrong on March.
  4. It's not out of control. Dwight Howard's failure to defend well on the perimeter when the Celtics play 5 out is going to result in a brains beating in when he's in. He will be at a minimum, -15 in this game, maybe -20 or -25. And any plays called for him will get snuffed out and stopped by Horford.
  5. This is fun! This game was already played before earlier in the year! Not only did it flop HORRENDOUSLY, it took an already garbage offense completely out of rhythm!
  6. Dwight Howard can't stay in the game when Amir Johnson goes out, his failure to defend on the perimeter with every other perimeter player being beat off the dribble will result in an easy Celtics run.
  7. Once again, sorry y'all but a big distributing PG would not be feeding Dwight more either. Dwight simply isn't the guy that y'all think he is. Outside of alley oops he should NOT be involved in the offense. He's a negative if you post him up.
  8. My thinking on BPA young big man and "maybe trade up" is I hope Patton or Hartenstein fall out of the top 10. If they fall into the 14-17 range, I'd look to try to trade for them. If not there are a couple other players I'd look at, including maybe Adebayo, maybe.
  9. With the caveat that I totally expect NONE of this to happen: 1. Dump Kent Bazemore. Dump him in any way possible, it doesn't matter if you have to keep some of the contract, just get him the heck off of the team. If an asset is garnered, perfect but if not no big deal. (I fully expect this to NOT happen as he exemplifies the ***hawks way*** to them) 2. See if you can resign Tim Hardaway Jr to something that is not ridiculous. My breaking point would probably be anything over 15 million per year. If he can be resigned to 3-36 with an option, that's perfect. 3. Resign Paul Millsap to a full max but not a 5 year contract, 2 years with an option again or 3. 4. Draft the BPA young big man in the first round, if the good young bigs are left. Maybe try to trade up but it depends. 5. As long as Ersan doesn't continue to play horribly, try to resign him unless he asks for too much. 6. Let all of the other stretch 4 types walk. 7. I think I'd let Sefolosha walk and look for another defensive wing type that may be cheap,
  10. I don't think people realize how damaging Ferry's drafting was. Yes, he was absolutely excellent at getting rid of bad contracts but with much better drafting (instead of grabbing a guy because we NEED a player in the frontcourt or because they absolutely fit our system), a lot of this mess isn't an issue.
  11. There's a point in time in which you have to swallow pride, take a hard look at things, and realize that talent is not the only thing that matters, fit also matters.
  12. But since Delaney has tons of ***intangibles***, he just HAS to continue playing. Because of his veteran savviness, he deserves at least 15-20 mins a game.
  13. Better yet, why did it take so long to replace that game?
  14. Miami has been hot lately and despite Delaney's good +/-, I think he gets even more exposed tonight. He doesn't have lateral speed and can't dribble drive. I wouldn't be surprised if another blowout happens like the last game vs Miami. Maybe they've cooled off due to the break but...
  15. If I were him I wouldn't have left the country with what is going on but it still sounds like a mistake that I'd make.
  16. It sounded like an honest mistake, and young adults will make mistakes all the time.
  17. It's often the same teams in the NFL, but even with it being the same teams in the NFL, as I said in another post (that likely caused this spinoff thread) getting red hot can often work in the NFL, getting red hot in the NBA doesn't work. The 2007 and 2011 Giants teams were nothing special, they got red hot.
  18. what's even worse is not this. it's we're going to see Bazemore/Sefolosha start together again. ROFLMFAO. That's the whole reason for the slow starts on offense.
  19. May be unrelated but still. Deleted - we aren't jumping into politics in homecourt. - AHF
  20. All that matters is attitude. If they have the Spursian way attitude, they're going to be kept! Doesn't matter if they're actually talented, the good attitude matters more!
  21. You're already wrong. The Hawks already resigned Patterson and Kelly for the rest of the season.
  22. Unless he gets appeased by Larry Bird, he's walking in 2018 free agency. Its title or bust for him.
  23. The NBA is not a league in which you can just get red hot in the playoffs and it'll work, you legitimately have to be one of the most talented teams in the league. I guess you can somewhat compare the Spurs to the Patriots, but the thing is, they were legitimately talented and it wasn't just their fundamentals. In the NFL and MLB just getting red hot can often work. It hasn't really come together for the Falcons yet (they're a young team, unlike the Hawks) but they got red hot (if its another team the deal is finished). Like, because of how the Falcons young defense was failing to learn how to play good defense outside of man to man, Quinn took over the job in the middle of the season and fired his DC.
  24. Yeah I'll give credit for Supes but it takes putting two and two together on this. I saw on another forum that there was an article that said "Unless PG knows he can contend for a title, he's not signing the super max with Indiana." Putting logical two and two together, if Indy knows they can't appease PG, they'll trade him or let him walk. Knowing about this article, before the trade rumor came out, I knew there was a chance he'd be on the block. Why would he want to go to LAL though?
