  1. btw. i was just joking around jaybird since you know more about sports than most of the guys i know. Sarcasm: fail on my part....again.
  2. Damn man. I guess we're saving for that new stadium, lol. That's pretty good money for his age. Still would have been nice since we don't seem to have anyone else who is a big game pitcher. Maybe we're bringing back Freddy Garcia.
  3. That may be and i may just be a curmudgeon i'll admit that. But we have had a super bowl although its been a while. Having the baseball team move out of town will be a bad thing for Atlanta though. I think it will also be bad for the Braves as they chose a ridiculous location. I've also seen more interest in the Braves from young fans intown the last two years than i have, well ever. I know they're maps say that's not important but i think they are very wrong.
  4. This is what i expected from Cheeks. I'm guessing he allowed Josh to go crazy so he could show him the err of his ways.
  5. Just a girl, little 'ol you. I can't say i've seen much crazier than that on a game winning play. Truly a miracle play.
  6. Every Heat game is on national tv and they do lose a few. Early in the season i think things are more level but we'll see. Horford, Milsap, and even Ayón should be able to have big games but guarding Lebron and Wade will be a big problem. Hope Cartier and DMC are ready.
  7. Despite the Falcons posturing all those things would still come to the GA Dome. I love the Falcons but i'm not a big fan of the new stadium and the Braves will be complaining and begging for transportation solutions about a year after they move in. And the state will probably help them now that they aren't in Atlanta.
  8. i guess i didn't back up far enough in this thread but i've thought Dennis has looked real good for the most part. NBA players are damn good. He's not an idiot. He knows he has to learn a lot and get used to the speed and size and skills of his opponents. While i think it was ridiculous that folks thought he'd be better than Teague right out of the gate I do think he's shown to be a better nba PG than acie, salim, and even jordan crawford. I'm seeing little chance Ferry trades him and he should be a solid contributor before the year is over. Mack looked great against the Knicks but let's face it the Knicks weren't trying to defend very hard.
  9. To me this is exactly why Woody is such a bad playoff coach. Bud went to the tape and said hey here is how you exploit these guys and here is how you shut them down. Woody just does the same thing game after game regardless of what the competition is doing. In his defense, could you stock a team with more head cases and one dimensional players.
  10. Man that would be the best. To get a lottery pick without actually being in the lottery. We need to pull hard for the Nets to tank. Unfortunately there is going to be too much tanking competition in the East. The nets have too much talent to be THAT bad.
  11. I saw Greg Maddux against Curt Schilling in a game that lasted i think an hour and 50 minutes. Braves lost 1-0 and Schilling had 17 strikeouts i think. It was a terrible horrible game for a braves fan but still a hall of fame matchup that you don't see very often. I was at Chipper Jones bobble head night last year which was friggin an awesome game for the braves and chipper.
  12. Are the Falcons still playing? Can we have a do over on which Atlanta team we give our tax dollars to. I prefer the playoff one that plays 10 times more games.
  13. There was a lot of summer and pre-season discussion on this board about Dennis already being better than Teague. Geez. That's not looking so good is it? Every player has some weaknesses. Teague is ballin. He's scoring different ways. He's hitting his guys with good passes. Just because he's not throwing behind the back or high traffic bounce passes doesn't mean he isn't a good distributor.
  14. The game is on sportssouth as normal according to hawks.com. (in addition to nba.tv)
  15. You know that was my first reaction until I saw that he's been out 10 months. That seems about right. Rose has made everyone's recovery expectation get out of whack i think. Still I hope he's comfortable because it he's guarding it that's when you get hamstring and other injuries right?
  16. You mean you think they will try to make the playoffs? I wouldn't put it past Charlotte to try. Philly i think is smarter than that and i just don't see where the Bucks have anything other than a good coach. I've been wrong plenty. Although never about the Wiz. Every year people predict the Wiz will be good and I say they will suck. They've made me look smart on that so far.
  17. Aaron Affalo. Although the Magic may want to keep him but he is ballin this year. He's in his prime. Teague/AA/milsap/horf is a friggin great lineup. You could go KK/Martin or DMC at the 3. I think he's the missing piece
  18. Can we do a google hangout where you just point your phone at the court so we can watch it?
  19. A lot of these players are journeymen. We don't have to be exactly like SA to be successful. We are missing a big 2 who can shoot. In actuality we may be missing a starting 2 and 3 who can shoot. Then we'd have a second unit of Dennis/Lou/Korver. But if we get a big 2 who can shoot the ball I'm ok with KK starting at the 3. Bud isn't going anywhere for a while. You can already tell he's a good head coach.
  20. perimeter defense is a problem but we should have outscored the Knicks. We missed too many shots that Lou could have made. Just looking at that one game as an example. I don't htink Lou's defense would have been that much worse because it sucked anyway. But our offensive options would have been a lot better.
  21. Wow. That would be crazy good luck. Still i see no way they fall out of the playoffs. There just aren't more than 8 playoff teams in the east. Bucks, sixers, celtics, orlando, and charlotte are all a lock to not even try for the playoffs. That leaves Wiz, Cavs, Toronto, and Detroit all 'competing' for the final two lottery spots in the east. I just can't see the Hawks, Knicks, or Nets being able to play bad enough to get in the lottery. This is going to be a crazy season. Still I like the way your thinking. That would be awesome if it pans out.
  22. Gortat and the Wizards are the two most overrated things in the league.
  23. It appears to be the case but i don't know for sure. on hawks.com it only lists radio. Guess they didn't realize this would be a matchup of the number 3 and 4 teams in the east.
