  1. Outside of JC who went 8-11, the rest of team was 14-42. Thats gotta change in the 2nd half or they won't see their 8th win in March.
  2. OO just isn't ready to get meaningful PT right now.
  3. FoxSSE graphics folks having a tough time early.
  4. A Pacers win tonight coupled with a Hawks won tomorrow and we are tied 4th.
  5. IMO, hardest to "easiest" games: Nuggets Suns Warriors Lakers Clippers Spurs Pels Kings I'm having a hard time believing they go 5-3 on the trip so I'm saying 4-4 with losses to the top 4 teams on my list. I absolutely believe they CAN beat any of the teams on the list, I'm just struggling believing they WILL beat the majority of them.
  6. Correct. That was my point. Or I thought it was anyway. LOL
  7. FWIW my numbers above were only since Nate took over as interim so they didn't consider the 3 games he coaches when LP would out. My point in mentioning Cam was simply for clarity as I was citing the differences between 3pt attempts when LP was coach and when Nate was coach. It was in response to Supes saying that the biggest difference is in who is taking the 3's and whether they are contested. My quick look at the 3pt FGA prior to March 1 and since March 1 showed everyone was basically the same except for the 3 I mentioned. Cam was because of injury obviously. We'll see if his attempts change at when he comes back. And now that I typed all that out, it occurs to me I should have also included Hunter since he's been out as well. Oh well, I agree the sample size is small with Nate. I just found it interesting that the Hawks are taking MORE 3's under Nate and also making more. The culprit for that is, in large part, Gallo increasing while Bogie had decreased until last night.
  8. From a Cap standpoint, Snell plus any of the young players on the periphery (Goodwin, Bruno, Skylar, Knight) would work just fine. The article makes it sound like Memphis doesn't really need any more bigs so if they would do Snell plus Goodwin or Mays that could work. No idea what they are expecting to get out of an expiring UFA. But the Hawks could certainly be a home for him if they desired to make it happen.
  9. Bogie fits great on the bench as you said. One thing I'll counter with though is that since Nate has taken over, the Hawks dropped to nearly last in the NBA in PACE. Before last game they were 29th at around 94 poss/ gm. So they aren't playing all that fast. Now, I don't know that there's necessarily any correlation between the pace and the winning but I do know they are top 5 in OffRtg and DefRtg while playing this slower pace. So whatever is the cause and whatever is the effect, it's all working right now. Also, I've never really bought into the "you can't have a high priced player on the bench" mentality. The cap space is what it is so spend it however you need to. For the Hawks, they have cheap starters on rookie contracts so it makes sense (to me) that they would have higher priced backups. As long as ownership is willing to spend over the cap to extend the starters (and as long as the starters are capable of achieving the team goals), who cares if they make more or less than their backups?
  10. I want him to get his floater going first and then pass off that. And then take 3s as appropriate. The mid range he started with tonight was just beautiful to see. When he's hitting those shots, he's damn near impossible to stop because his vision and passing are so elite. He draws defenders and then finds wide open teammates for easy shots. My contention is if he doesn't establish his shot early, the defense doesn't have to cheat as much and it's harder to find his teammates in wide open space.
  11. Not going to argue, but the point was never that he had to score 30+ in a vacuum. The point was always the style / aggressiveness with which he played. Yes, it typically meant scoring more, but I'm 100% fine with him scoring less if the open shots he creates for his teammates are being drained like they were tonight.
  12. I mean....this is EXACTLY how we've both been saying he should play. He got his offensive game going early and that led to finding open teammates. He was aggressive and didn't always look for his teammates first but still involved them as the game went on. It was a damn near perfect game as far as I'm concerned. But it's what you've been calling me out for wanting all along.
  13. Oh how I want Hunter back for Saturday. This thing is shaping up just perfectly. Playin well. Gettin healthy. Movin up the standings.
  14. He can certainly make a statement on the road trip.
  15. Just get healthy and see where we at.
  16. Trae being aggressive early. A good sign.
  17. Miami is just a weird team from the standpoint that they don't have any one single player (apologies to Jimmy) that just scares the hell out you. BUT....they have literally ALL the intangibles of coaching, experience, veterans, and are still a really talented squad. I'd just as soon avoid them in round 1 to be honest. I think they are going to be TOUGH for anyone. The Nets on the other hand seem to have star after star after star but they rarely play defense and I'm not sold on their coaching. I actually think the Nets are going to struggle early in the playoffs depending on their matchup. I think the Hawks could absolutely take a series from them, but I don't want to find out cuz that would mean being in the play in tourny imo. I'm thinking the Hawks are going to be either 4 or 5 and will face Miami which is going to be a tough out. The only catch to that is if Miami gets hurt and slips OR really takes off and overtakes Mil for 3. Either would be ideal for Hawks, imo.
  18. Doesn't Loyola have a 103-yr old nun as their mascot? How can techies compete with that???
  19. Oladipo for Snell / Bruno / Goodwin / Solo works according to trade machine. Not sure why Hou would do that though. Maybe if they throw in a pick or something.
  20. The injury issue and price tag of his next contract are reasons to stay away from Oladipo. Trading Kevin isn't my first choice, but it's not a deal breaker either. This season: Kevin - 1.14 PPS Dipo - 1.12 PPS The difference is Kevin shoots at higher % but Dipo gets to the line more. I just think Kevin is the better value given the assumed costs for Dipo and injury history. In the 2.5 seasons Kevin has been in the league, he's played in 171 games. Over the same time frame Dipo has played in 82. Pass.
  21. I agree. Just win. IF (and it's a big one) the Hawks can prove they can consistently win with against the non-sucking NBA teams with Trae only scoring 15 pts, I'll be jumping for job because it makes it SO SO SO much easier for the team to win and takes all kinds of pressure off of Trae.
  22. Absolutely you can pick out five. My running tally was 6 games - Bkyn, Clev, NYK, Bkyn, Dal, Clev. And you bring up onces I didn't even put on LP entirely but the argument could certainly be made. The sheer fact they have gone from 30th in the 4th quarter to 1st in the 4th quarter is confirmation enough that LP needed to go.
  23. In terms of who's shooting and how much, the biggest differences between LP and Nate and really seen with 3 players. Under Nate: Gallo taking 3 more 3pt shots per game and hitting 2 of those per game Cam is NOT taking nearly 5 shots per game at 26% Bogie taking 2 fewer 3pt shots per game, but also making 1.5 fewer Everyone else is within 1 shot attempt and 1 make of what they were doing under LP.
  24. Yep. Since March 1: 9th in 3pt FGA / 3rd in 3pt FGM Prior to March 1: 18th in 3pt FGA / 17th in 3pt FGM They are taking - and makiing - 2.5 more 3pt shots per game under Nate. As long as the making continues, they good. Another area where there seems to be a HUGE difference is PACE. They now rank 29th in the NBA in PACE since March 1. Under LP, they were middle of the back but still around 100 Poss / gm. Now they are barely at 94 poss / gm. That has helped immensely with defense.
