Hawks shot 28% from 3pt. But compared to the Kings 11% it feels like they can't miss. Sacto not gonna go 2-17 in the 2nd half me thinks.

He and Kevin are very similar. Better to get going at the basket first and then expand out to the jumper.

Need to figure out how to get him some easy buckets. Ditch the jumper for a bit and just get him comfortable.

If only he could bottle it up and have it every game. Enjoy it while it lasts I guess.

At this point anything Bogie gives is just a bonus. I don't really expect anything. He needs to settle down and not force shots though.

Was out shooting corner 3s for 20 min before the game tonight per Conti. Looked good. Sight for sore eyes.

Has anyone mentioned playing Clint to end games?? That's a big one, imo.

The Next 36 - 2nd half of the season starts tomorrow

Since Nate took over, the Hawks defensive rating by quarter: 1st - 12th at 107.9 pts allowed / 100 poss 2nd - 8th at 102.7 3rd - 30th at 134.8 4th - 1st at 84.4 Overall - 8th at 107.2 Question......what the heck happens at halftime? -
Not that it matters, but I'm of the opinion that Nate is the best coach for the job until he proves he isn't. He's surely the most successful coach that is currently being considered for the job. If he does as well in the 2nd half as I suspect he will, it's a wrap imo. He'll be the coach for the foreseeable future. And, imo, that's a good thing.

To this point (and yes, I recognize the sample size issue): Hawks 4th Qtr (December - February): 7th OffRtg at 112.2 / 30th DefRtg at 120.4 / 30th NetRtg at -8.2 Hawks 4th Qtr (March): 1st OffRtg at 147.9 / 1st DefRtg at 84.9 / 1st NetRtg at +63.0 Again, I know the former is 34 games while the latter is 3 games, but the difference is STARK.

Overly simplistic but they are 15-7 when they shoot 35% or better from 3pt and 11-3 when they shoot 38% or better. 2-13 when they shoot sub 35%. Make or miss league. Hawks don't have enough consistent makers. EDIT: Just 2 examples: Gallo is 2nd on team in 3pt% at 39.5%. But how many times have we all complained about his bricks? Consider: Gallo has played in 25 games. In 10 he's been sub-30% from 3pt. In 11 he's been 50%+. It's all or nothing with him. Kevin has played in all 37 games. In 14 he's sub-30% from 3Pt and in 10 he's 50%+. Again, feast or famine. -
Last 3 games Hawks out score opponent by 11, 15, and 17 pts. That will cover up a lot of warts.

This is why I think Travis HAS to do something at the deadline to get a backup C for when Clint sits. Gallo ain't it.

Really streaky. When they're making the Hawks are dang hard to beat. They just need more consistency. Kevin needs to attack the rim more.

Blurb from Kirschner on Hawks potential coaching search
REHawksFan replied to KB21's topic in Homecourt
There's no one on the team currently that can replace JC. I'd personally keep him. But if TS doesn't think he's a fit long term, he'd have to figure that out down the road. I'm just saying it doesn't make sense to trade him now even if he trades him eventually. Trading JC now makes them worse in the short term (barring a blockbuster trade that seems unlikely) which goes against their stated goals for the season. Supes mentioned trading JC for Porter Jr from Denver. I wouldn't hate that trade but I'd rather just keep JC. I think he's developed into a more dynamic player than just a rim roller. -

Who to trade? The only trades I think are realistic would be something like trading Snell for a back up center. But I don't have anything in mind. And honestly, as good as Snell has been, I'm not sure TS would trade him given the wing injuries. I suppose I could see a scenario where they trade Kevin but they'd almost have to get back another young player. Not sure I see the point in that. I'd love for Travis to come up with a way to acquire some depth at the Center position without giving up any rotation piece, but I honestly don't see it. At this point, my honest opinion is that they stick with what they have and see how much better they get just by getting healthy. And I don't really see anything wrong with that either. -

I've said all along I don't think John gets traded unless it's part of some blockbuster trade. The Hawks want to win now and they have no one to replace John if he's traded. I don't think there's anyway TS trades him this year. He could absolutely trade him next year after matching though IF he doesn't think JC is part of the future core. -

Not for nothing but they could also match and then trade him next year. Don't HAVE to trade him this year. -
